While I oppose the immigration bill, given the border-security issue and Obama's record of non-enforcement, among other things, I regret linking to a post that refers to Senator Rubio as a slick used car salesman. He is earnest and thoughtful and deserves much better. He loves his country and means well, unlike too many politicians. There are slick used car salesmen on Capitol Hill, many come to mind, but Rubio is certainly not one of them.
Also, while I'm on the subject, there are bloggers, columnists, and radio hosts who will personally trash Rubio because they think that shows how tough they are on illegal immigration or how conservative they are. Actually, they are pretenders. Most of them have done nothing on this issue or for the conservative movement. Landmark Legal Foundation has been involved in every recent, major piece of litigation against the Obama administration involving illegal immigration, including assisting Arizona in its defense of its law and borders. We went all the way to the Supreme Court. I don't recall any of these "tough" guys and gals behind their computers and microphones lifting a finger. None of them. Talk is cheap, and many of them are frauds.
The Obama regime’s take over of the financial system and the free market system should be some of the urgent issues that the republicans should be fighting against along with the way Obama over reaches his constitutional authority. Not wise to go along with Shummer and his party’s plan to legalize illegals instantly by forgiveness. I can see Rubio wants something done with this problem though the federal government will not even enforce existing border enforcement today from day one of Obama’s first term. Rubio is too immature to trust or to even work with the liberal democrats. That to me was a huge mistake to ever allow one’s trust to these liberal democrats.
Schumer pours the champagne to celebrate Congressional passage of the 1986 Amnesty, disguised as "reform and control."
To coral the votes to pass the 1986 Amnesty, Schumer promised, "We are here to solve problems before they become crises. Sure enough, if we do nothing, our immigration problem will become an immigration crisis."
Are we doomed to repeat the catastrophic mistakes of that past Amnesty because Schumer finds a sap who had been cast as the great hope of the GOP - but is to young and/or ambitious to learn from history?
I hate to break it to you, but mass deporation ain’t never ever going to happen, for a number of reasons...some of them may be good reasons...some of them surely are bad reasons...and some of them just plain “reality sucks” reasons....but regardless....it just ain’t gonna happen.
For your own peace of mind, I would suggest accepting that. This is not to say that Rubio was right on everything - because he surely was not - but all I want for this issue is for it to be handled in a way that is in America’s best interest, and that means understanding that a 60 year problem is simply not going to be deported away. Just not...
“Rubio is talking way too fast and selling way too hard.
I hear more of the same that was supposed to be done but not done and excuses for not enforcing the laws we have now.”
Exactly. I was yelling at the radio telling Rush this guy is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Rubio is a Phoenix.
If Mexico could get millions to self-deport, then we can too. Massive fines and imprisonment for those who hire illegals would go a long way toward turning off the employment magnet. If they can't get jobs here, they won't come here nor will they stay here. Not a complete solution, but a big first step in the right direction.
Well, I continue to stand with Mark Levin and Sarah Palin
as the ones I look to for leadership. I trust that he
was being diplomatic and respectful.
Your link only links to Facebook.
Do you have a more specific link?
Actually, your argument is flawed seriously in two areas - one being the analogy between our situation and Mexico’s situation...the second is your idea to force deportation of those working ahead of those getting benefits. It’s much harder to do, penalizes our entire economy, and fails to recognize the abject pathetic nature of our own domestic unskilled and semi skilled labor force. Meanwhile, cutting off benefits immediately benefits all legal citizens financially, is much easier to do, and sends home the worst of the offenders.
Remember, any e verify system will be run by the same government that brings us Obama Care....so if you really want to trust in that kind of system, knock yourself out...
and “for your own peacer of mind” kid you need to accept the fact that we immigrants are not going to just gto away and shut up so that you and your Rubio and your illegal aliens can continue to spit on us and run roughshod over the American citizens and the Constitution...
ai nt gonna happen boyo...
Im here to stay...
and Ive been speakinfg against this illegal alien crap for more than 40 years...
Nothing wrong with my mind girlie...
Its American to fight against enemies foreign presently domestic...
To accept the presence of illegal aliens as OK is ANTI-IMMIGRATION...
and ANTI-AMERICAN...
Now for your mental health make up your mind...
was your Rubio fooled and ignorant today on Rush ???
or was he as we Conservatives suspect
Devious and agenda driven ???
a ghost member of the Gang of 8 ???
One big player here is Frank VanderSloot, multimillionaire LDS member from Idaho, CEO of Melaleuca, Inc., also chairman of U.S. Chamber of Commerce, former national co-chair for Mitt Romney.
Search him on Google or Yahoo and read more, continue following him and others like him who are paying these politicians regardless of how sincere they might be, they are listening to these folk more than they are willing to listen to us!
Whatever happens to Rubio for his support of those business leaders' push for Amnesty, whether through his naiveté or no, he deserves because he ran for office and found himself willing to be used by these folk.
Oh, I'd be all for cutting off benefits also. But any enforcement of whom receives benefits would also be run, as you say, by the same government that brings us ObamaCare.
Moreover, unless you change certain laws, illegals cannot be denied the benefits necessary medical treatment nor public education. And since I doubt you'd ever get those laws changed, then the best bet would still be to work from the employment angle.
abject pathetic nature of our own domestic unskilled and semi skilled labor force
The free market is a dynamic thing. It will adjust to the absence of illegal workers. It would be interesting to know to what extent the pathetic nature of our own domestic unskilled labor force is due to the effects of essentially unfettered illegal immigration. I'd bet there is some cause and effect going on there.
Name not listed but big player here is: Frank VanderSloot, CEO of Melaleuca, Inc.
I listened to Levin’s interview of Rubio yesterday. Rubio lost me when he started talking about a backup enforcement plan by a commission appointed by the border governors. Jerry Brown is a border governor. Nuff said.
Other big donor is: Jonathan Johnson, CEO of Overstock.com
Yeah, and the commission is formed after waiting five years to see how things are going.
Build the fence! Now!
I don’t disagree with anything you said, except maybe a little matter of degree here or there. Bottom line? Especially regarding our workforce, which degraded due to rich government hand outs, powerful unions, a gimme mentality and ADHD etc.
This situation has evolved over 50-60 years - with a porous border. What we have now is the result of supply and demand playing out, including on the consumer end. To try and devolve it quickly would punish each and every one of us. Something to think about.
Do you feel better now? You totally misinterpreted what I was saying, but I think heat and not light is how you roll.
I am on Mark Levin’s side. Well, actually he is on my side. My state put Rubio in office, and he is ten feet taller than any of his opponents.
He may not be right on all the issues, but he is a patriot.
Have your pet illegallaliens b een deprterd yet ???
all 30 MILLION of them ???
Thjen No it wont be better for me or my country, the United States of America, until they are all gone...
Do tell them they can take their anchor babies with them...
and your buddy Barry can vacate my White House and go too...
