Retired Marine Sniper Bob Lee Swagger and former Washington Post film critic Stephen Hunter are back with The Third Bullet .....
In a move that is rather genius in its simplicity, Hunter has taken his old protagonist and thrown him a mystery that has haunted America for 50 years: who killed President John F. Kennedy? ......
However, Hunter has no time for foolish conspiracies. In his novel he presents a theory that is ridiculously plausible that is supported and sustained by the one thing most readers love about Hunter: his substantial knowledge about firearms......
Besides the central mystery, The Third Bullet still has a lot to offer. It's not one book, but two. We get Swagger's story and we also get the first-person account of the main conspirator in the JFK assassination (his identity is a nice surprise for longtime Hunter readers). Hunter weaves these two books together, so we get a thrilling account of not just Swagger's adventures, but an account of the day of Nov. 22nd, 1963 as well.
From its brilliantly amusing opening to its powerful final moments, it's easy to sense that The Third Bullet is the novel Hunter and Swagger were always meant to create. It's the culmination of years of writing, shooting and learning. It's the novel that sets in stone the fact that Hunter is a damn good writer and Bob Lee Swagger is a damn fine hero. And if the final moments of The Third Bullet are to be believed: these two old birds ain't done yet. "

Don’t believe a shot from the sewer. That would be a truly magical bullet that goes up and over the side of the car to hit Kennedy. Pure crap.
There is a storm drain on the side of the road at the curb. This is where they say the shot, although impossible in angle, hit Kennedy.
200+ lbs. for a manhole cover?
That idea appeared years ago in an episode of “The X-Files”, not sure if it emerged from the body conspiracy material or was original to the show.
Go pull one! and see! if they were light when the sewer floods they would be in the street and your car tire would be toast!
Go pull one Big boy!
I have researched this and have been to Dallas and walked the whole area!
The last shot came from behind the white fence above the grassy Knoll!
Kennedy was led to slaughter! No doubt about it! Whether Mafia Cia or whatever! It was a conspiricy! LHO could not have pulled it off by himself!
Leftists can’t handle the fact that JFK was killed by a Commie. They were so sure that it had to be some kind of Right-Wing conspiracy.
There was no 1.6 seconds. That is based on assuming the maximum time availible for Kennedy and Conolly to be hit by separate bullets. But on the Zapruder film Conolly is reacting to the sound of the first shot befor Kennedy is hit. ergo they were both hit by the same (second) shot. The first (miss) was about 3 seconds earlier.
Well, I wasn’t trying to sell anyone on the idea, which should be obvious, so, right back at ya, go pull on yourself.

Right, the police were on the knoll within seconds of the shooting. That’s probably why a lot of the knoll theories have to claim the shooter was in a police or secret service uniform, because it’s the only imaginable circumstance where the police might not have automatically apprehended a shooter in that location.
Of course, even if a shooter were so disguised, they would also have to, within seconds, dispose of their rifle, ammunition, and casings with such efficiency that none of the police who searched the area for hours and days afterwards ever found them. I’d pay to see that magic trick!
