What if Twitter had existed when Sally Field bragged about how we really like her?

The culturewide attack on the Hathaway is utterly bizarre—except that it isn’t. It is the rawest example yet of our 2013, Twitter-loving, insta-pundit, mountain-out-of-a-molehill media culture. It’s not that we judge stars more than we used to. It’s that we now have the platform to do it in real time and expect those being judged to care enough to respond and take action, again in real time.

I guess I’m just showing how far out of the popular culture loop I am by acknowledging that I have no clue who Ann Hathaway is.

Last month was very exciting because Hollywood actually released a film that did not feature Freeman! And this sick addiction to casting him as a god, a president or a genius is truly hurl-inducing.

Sally Fields could fly and look cute even in close ups in that flying Numb thing. Anne may hath a way but she didn’t seem too happy in that Less Miserable movie. Probably because of everyone singing instead of just saying right out what’s bothering them.
