Video I made of a shape note song called “One by One” (First part is us singing the shapes - then the words.)

Drive by posting again, this move seems to be taking forever. But down to last bits in the house, now it’s the attic and tools turn, then clean and put on market. Putting stuff in a smaller house that was in a to large house is proving a challenge. I had my own closet, now I have to ‘share’. And his clothes are from his dad and his brother, never worn, I am slowly giving them to the Vets orgs that want donations. Along with excess furniture.

Your post reminds me of something a little boy I knew used to say.

“God is good, ALL the time!”

I am so glad you shared that don-o! When the video was over, I watched your “Caddo”. I wish those people lived near me. I could just feel the love from them. It touched my heart with memories of my church days in the south!

There’s an article in our newspaper this morning that Sandi Patty will perform at the Gallo Center next Friday.

She’s been one my favorite Christian singers for many years.

Have a Blessed day, everyone!

Dave, I don’t know if you knew this - but Pam loved Sandi Patty - and even before she accepted Christ as her Lord, she would listen to Sandi all the time. She bought every tape of hers, and as she listened, tears would be streaming down her face. She didn’t know why she loved her music so much - but it certainly touched her heart, (Just as HE was touching her heart.) Now, she is embraced by Him in Heaven.

I hope you get to go to her performance next Friday, DD!

Yes, I remember you telling me about Pam’s love of Sandi Patty’s music.

I’ve got some LP’s, tapes and CD’s of Patti’s music.

Thank you for those two songs, yorkie.

I have all of the Gaither’s CD’s. Their music touches me.

One New Years Eve, Pam and I traveled to Phoenix on New Years Eve, to attend a Gaither Concert. The place was packed. We watched the clock hit midnight, along with several thousand Christians, all listening to Gaither’s music.

What a great start of the New Year that was!

Dust Art

April 22, 2013

When God chose dust as His artistic medium to create Adam (Gen. 2:7), He didn’t have to worry about running out of material. According to Hannah Holmes, author of The Secret Life of Dust, “Between 1 and 3 billion tons of desert dust fly up into the sky annually. One billion tons would fill 14 million boxcars in a train that would wrap six times around the Earth’s equator.”

No one has to buy dust, for we all have more than we want. I ignore it as long as I can in my house. My reasoning is this: If I don’t disturb it, it’s not as noticeable. But eventually it accumulates to the point that I can no longer pretend it’s not there. So I haul out my cleaning supplies and start removing it from wherever it has found a resting place.

As I remove the dust, I see myself reflected in the smooth surface. Then I see another thing: I see that God took something worthless, dust, and made it into something priceless—you and me and every other person (Gen. 2:7).

The fact that God used dust to create humans makes me think twice about labeling someone or something worthless. Perhaps the very thing that I want to get rid of—a person or problem that annoys me—is the artistic medium God has given to display His glory.

Lord, too often I want to quickly ignore
or dismiss difficult people and circumstances.
Help me to be open to learn from
You through them and to see Your glory.
Being all fashioned of the self-same dust, let us be merciful as well as just. —Longfellow

Read: Genesis 2:1-7

The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. —Genesis 2:7
