1st game of the season is 2 1/2 innings old and umps have blown 2 calls already.
Replay shows guy clearly stealing second - called out.
Worse - fly to left center trapped, but batter called out. When the replay was shown, even the announcers were kind of embarrassed.
Interleague Play, Interleague Play all season, 2 wildcards, Steroids, Brewers in the national league, Astros in the American
But no re-play

162 game regular season. Blown calls aren’t such a big deal.
Interleage play + unbalanced schedule + plus the wild card = several of the teams in the playoffs probably don’t belong there.
I guess there is a reply video?
A trapped ball is difficult to tell as is a short hop if it is really close. I short hopped one from left field in a really big game and the Ump called an out. The short stop came out and asked me if I short hopped it and I said that I had. He said that is fine as it is the umps responsibility to make the call and it is not your fault if he misses.
And this is the MLB opener so a little more significant that a midseason game.
Blown calls are part of the game.
The worst call I have ever seen was around 1990 in the College World Series. Oklahoma State vs Georgia Southern.
The Georgia Southern batter hit a 2 run homer and the ump nearest the ball called that it bounced out. giving the batter a grounds rule double.
Everyone in the stadium knew what happened except that ump. I never did understand why the other umps didn’t call a conference and tell that ump he missed it. There is no rule that they can’t.
Anyway OSU won by 1 run totally due to a bad call.
Could be worse....Barack could have shown up in his mommy jeans and lobbed a ball, worse than a little gurl, toward home plate.
No, he is still doing his bows at the NCAA’s. Expect to see him at the league playoffs or World Series.
They blew the infield fly in the playoffs. Under their ruling, all fly balls could be automatic outs.
Baseball blows.
There was something nonsensical about one league having more teams that the other. The Brewers should have stayed in the AL. To fix the problem, they should have been moved back.
Shame tho .. back in the day in here a good baseball thread would usually get pretty lengthy .. somethin' else we've lost, apparently d8^(
Rangers are going to suck this year, big time.
Might want to start paying attention to the Rangers-’Stros game.
Yu is perfect through six.
Yu is six outs away!
Yu Darvish is now three outs away from a perfect game!
24 up; 24 down. Bottom of the order up for the Astros in the bottom of the ninth.
