'Something unexpected' is happening on the Sun, Nasa has warned. This year was supposed to be the year of 'solar maximum,' the peak of the 11-year sunspot cycle. But as this image reveals, solar activity is relatively low.

Certainly the result of man made global warming and also George Bush’s fault. (sarcasm). Wouldn’t it be ironic that the sun is in a period of reduced output causing the the global climate to cool.

NASA warns us that something unexpected is happening on the Sun?

Warns???

Mankind has only been scientifically studying the Sun for 2 one-millionths of one percent of its existence, if that. Its pure hubris to think it will never do anything we haven't seen before -- but if it does, to issue a "warning" that it's not behaving properly, thereby potentially alarming the whole world.

However, scientists are more careful than that and I'd wager NASA spokesmen never used the word 'warning,' or any synonym for warning. Just more sloppy reporting by alarmist media types.

Maybe, suddenly, it will burst into flame and smoke like those damned CFL things.

DHS has a four page document in small type explaining how to clean up a broken CFL. Imagine their document for cleaning up a broken sun :)
