YEAH...some people dropping into this thread seem oblivious to its purpose...sheesh. Like peeing in the pool at a party. It’s ridiculous. I may not like much of Hollywood, but we are surrounded by it, and I need to be entertained a LITTLE bit, so I come here to find out what mostly conservative people think of the films out there. You can pretend they don’t exist, but that’s like pretending Democrats don’t exist.
That Teddy Bear skit was the low point of the entire evening.

Maybe once or twice every 10 years they accidentally make one movie that is a tad better than pure trash. Once every 20 years they make something worth buying - but not good enough to get me excited about going to a theater to see it.
You have to separate the art and the artist. None of the films this year are propaganda. McCarthy said nothing about Hollywood at all. Why spread that myth?

I saw both Argo and Les Miserables. I liked both those movies, but I've never understood Tarantino movies so I had no interest in seeing his Mandingo Jango movie this year. I do still want to see Lincoln, though.

What I said, is, that FR has handled most live threads in the last few years without choking up. I'm sure I haven't been on every live thread in that time, but I've been on most of the biggies, and it held up without breaking.
Now, is the site long overdue for a serious upgrade? You betcha it is, and I'm glad that JohnRob is finally getting that done.
