Take a big gulp, New York: Hizzoner is about to give you a pop.
Nanny Bloomberg unleashes his ban on large sodas on March 12 and there are some nasty surprises lurking for hardworking families.
Say goodbye to that 2-liter bottle of Coke with your pizza delivery, pitchers of soft drinks at your kids birthday party and some bottle-service mixers at your favorite nightclub.
-snip-
Typically, a pizzeria charges $3 for a 2-liter bottle of Coke. But under the ban, customers would have to buy six 12-ounce cans at a total cost of $7.50 to get an equivalent amount of soda.

I see a solution, here. Since carbonated, bottled water is not prohibited, give them that, and the soft drink syrup to put in it separately. Also, diet sodas are not limited either, so give them a non-sweetened diet soda and sugar syrup to sweeten it with.

Hey N.Y. you voted for this ass.
Now eat you peas and shut the hell up.
They will eat their floppy crappy pizza instead and have to wash it down with less than 2L of soda...
The biggest difference between the Mafia and the government?
When you pay the Mafia protection money, they leave you alone!
When you pay the government protection money they ALWAYS come back later and take more, ALWAYS!
It is sad, but I bet there are a lot of poor people who simply dont have the wherewithal to buy liters of soda and store them less than a buck at the grocery store.
Instead, they spend $3 to have a pizza delivery guy bring it.
Most poor people are poor because they are bloomin’ (pardon the bloomberg pun) idiots and dependent sheep types.
It’s true! I have had the misfortune of dealing with some in the past and they were always buying name brand crap be it food or clothing and here I am making twice as much or more and I am wearing the cheap clothing and using the store brand detergents and sang you hiney off toilet paper and eating the store brand FMV food. While they would buy Kraft brand mac and cheese and extra soft charmin to wipe their tushes when they crapped out their mac....
I lived lean when i was starting out and that is what drove me to pursue a better job and career path, and as a result I still live lean in MANY areas! They are missing the drive that a natural state of poverty used to help drive into people. My parents and grandparents were poor and they used to go to the dump to get their clothing and furniture and used to have to go to bed ever so many meals hungry. Not anymore with welfare and EBT cards....
Haha! Liberal New Yorkers knew this was coming, right?
This is stupid. The “Big Swigs” that appall liberals were meant for one person consumption, 2-Liter bottles were meant to be poured out and serve to many. This is a classic case of the letter of the law vs. the spirit of the law. Under this new ordinance, purchasing more than a 16 oz quantity of drink in any form (that’s means six-packs) will be illegal if you get the right bureaucrat calling the shots. You can only buy single cans of Coke (two cans if they are the little ones).
I don’t blame Bloomberg as much as I blame the foolish low-information voters who keep electing people like him Mayor. And I laugh at their misfortune.
Not for long, I predict.
It’s funny ‘cuz while Mayor Bloomberg goes after big gulp sodas in the name of health he’s allowing gay bathhouses to operate in apparent violation of the law which may result in more STD transmissions due to the anonymous and sometimes unsafe sexual practices which presumably take place at the establishments.
Only restaurants are under Mikey’s purview such that he can impose the law on them. Convenience stores are thus exempt, and what people can’t buy at their fast food place they can stop in and purchase at their 7-11 or whatever.
Utterly senseless.
We still buy clothes at the thrift store. It is a way of life. It’s also “green living”, re-use of perfectly good things.
And Obama and the liberals will come after me and demonize me because I have money in the bank; which they don’t, because they don’t work as hard, but moreso because they spent all the money they had, and money they didn’t have. Because they thought that having expensive things was a measure of worth.
.
You can bet at his mansion you can eat and drink all you want while he takes great pleasure in micro managing your measly lives.
I can't believe the good people of New York don't show up at his office and tar and feather this a hole.. Everything thats screwed up in his state and he's worried about how much soda you can consume.
Follow the money.
I can go to a bar and get bottle service. They will give me a 750ml (approx 25 oz) bottle of whichever liquor I want, but no more than 16oz of Coke to mix it.
Yeah, that makes sense.
