There's supposed to be some epic Bonding at the Oscars -- the buzz is ... all 6 actors who have played James Bond may appear on stage. But now we're hearing one of them may be a no-show, and shockingly ... it could be Pierce Brosnan.
Brosnan confessed yesterday in Malibu, "Well, they'll be missing one."
It's unclear, but his tone and body language seems to suggest he is the one that wants no part of it.
Who woulda thunk -- Sean Connery was our bet for the holdout.
FYI.
Simply put, “The World Is Not Enough” for Pierce.......
That’s a shame....Bond has been very good for the careers of all of these guys. In fact, even the cottage industry of comparing them with each other has been beneficial to them. This is the kind of decision he’ll regred in 10,20 years...a chance to reunite an amanzing franchise.
No photo? I am deeply saddened.
He’d show up probably for the “Remington Steele” reunion.
Sean won’t tell you in advance. I don’t think he gives a damn at this point. The greatest of all Bonds!!
Yesterday “Dr. NO” was on TV. I watched the entire thing for the umpteenth time. Next to Gold Finger, it was the 2nd best Bond flick. No ridiculous gadgets, no Rube Golberg impossible to follow plot, infused with suspense throughout, all the Bond idiosycrasy’s neatly woven in the film. And of course a young looking Connery, the best Bond actor ever.
By far.
Connery must really love to work, he just keeps cranking them out. Some great, some not so much. But everything he’s in he makes it better.
Pierce Brosnan wasn’t much at playing Bond anyway.
You cannot turn a pussycat into a tiger.
Arrogant ingratitude.
My two favorite Bonds were Connery and Brosnan.
The newest one isn’t my image of a Bond, but he does all right.
Roger Moore might have been a decent actor, but he had some stupid scripts.
I just love running across an old Sean Connery movie at a garage sale ($1)...Will keep my old video player forever.
something is off with him. I don’t mean the acting issue. Rather I think he or someone close to him is really sick.
Yes, I saw “Dr. No” yesterday as well on the G4 Channel...
That whole Jamaica scene of the 1960s, along with British influence on the island nation, has always interested me.
I’d rather see Dame Judi Dench as “M” at said reunion that the arrogant Brosnan......
Desmond Dekker came first.
Most of his roles these days are supporting parts that probably don't take more than a couple of weeks of the schedule to shoot. He flies in, works a few long days, plays some golf on some days off, then flies home, a check for a million or so in his pocket.
You must see The Man Who Would be King ,with him and Michael
Caine, but I’m sure you already have. One of the very best American movies of the period.
Roger Moore’s Bond was Simon Templar operating under an assumed name.
