I often see canine leavings at the side of the road, and wonder which of my fellow dog owners left them behind. (It certainly isnt the dogs fault.) In recent years, homeowners associations and apartment complexes have answered this important question by requiring DNA samples from dogs living on the property. When staff find an abandoned pile, they match the DNA it contains to a resident dog, and fine the owner $250.

I thought about this years ago. A lot of dog owners don’t pick it up in my complex too.
For a while I thought that civilization was going to the dogs, but it’s much worse than that as it is going to dog poops!
I need to DNA my browsers to figure out which one’s poop I step in on the way to the kitchen.
A lot of Amish where I live too, Nothing like a nice ride on the motorcycle and hitting a turn where a horse just left a load in the street.Skidding in horse dung is no fun.
Addams Family?
“They are taking this whole bureaucratic mentality too far these days.”
Indeed. Who gives a crap anyway? There are bigger turds in Washington to clean up.
I agree with you completely, as both a runner and a lover of dogs who walks them often. I am never without poop bags, there are in a container that attaches to the leash. I don’t care where they poop along the way, it could be an unimproved piece of land next to the sidewalk or it could be in someone’s yard, it gets picked up immediately.
The piles of poop are everywhere, and I see people walking their dogs all of the time with no apparent way to pick it up if they should “go.” My sister lived in an apartment where the problem was unbelievable. Nice landscaping and grass, but poop everywhere. They had a policy to pick up after your pet and they even provided the bags in dispensers that where conveniently located throughout the complex, but seemingly everyone ignored the policy. It was disgusting.
And you are surprised that the government doesn’t do things as fast or as well as private industry?
