Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is convinced that a lone gunman wasnt solely responsible for the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and said his father believed the Warren Commission report was a shoddy piece of craftsmanship.
Kennedy and his sister, Rory, spoke about their family Friday night while being interviewed in front of an audience by Charlie Rose at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. The event comes as a year of observances begins for the 50th anniversary of the presidents death.
Their uncle was killed on Nov. 22, 1963, while riding in a motorcade through Dallas. Five years later, their father was assassinated in a Los Angeles hotel while celebrating his win in the California Democratic presidential primary.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his father spent a year trying to come to grips with his brothers death, reading the work of Greek philosophers, Catholic scholars, Henry David Thoreau, poets and others trying to figure out kind of the existential implications of why a just God would allow injustice to happen of the magnitude he was seeing.

JFTR, I have never heard of Rory being used as a womans name; it was always a mans name where I come from.

A man or woman trying to figure why God would allow a event in their lives never understood God in the first place. God had nothing to do with the death of JFK. It was the evil deeds of men that killed JFK.

Charlie Rose at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. There was a time, about when I first moved here, where an avowed communist like Charlie Rose would know better than to come to Dallas. Sadly, Dallas County has been overrun with illegals, minorities, sodomites, union thugs and leftists -- just the type that finds evil scum such as this Rose jerk heroic. This is not the good Dallas of the past that I recall so fondly. Fortunately, the core of Dallas is surrounded by good, Christian Conservative counties where true Texas values still prevail. And gun ownership by the right kind of people is high!

50th anniversary! How many of yall feel old? I was just under voting age when Kennedy ran in 1960 so I didn't have the opportunity to vote against him. Nevertheless, I campaigned and worked hard to get Richard Nixon elected. Nixon had not yet gone soft was still a fearless fighter against the commies. It's now clear that the presidential election was stolen by Jack Kennedy and his corrupt crowd -- his booze-running father and the Chicago machine. The Nixon of 1968 was far from the reliable Conservative of eight years earlier.

A good follow-up question for Charles Rose to ask could have been “How did your family feel about a ‘search for god’ by the men on the ground who were left to fight without air cover during the Bay of Pigs”?

Well, I was out of diapers when JFK was killed. I remember Bobby’s death though. I learned in elementary what “brain death” meant. I prayed hard too. Oh, well. You grow up fast in the South!

On the show, “Gilmore Girls”, Rory was the daughter’s name, but it was shortened from Lorelai.

The deification of Johnny Kennedy is disgusting (and he even has some fans here on Free Republic). For those of us old enough to remember his evil administration, he ranks among the worst of all presidents, in the same category as Franklin Diablo Roosevelt and the current occupant. JFK acquiesced to commies and was a pushover for Krushchev and Castro. Had Nixon, then a fierce fighter against the Soviets and Red China, won in 1960, Cuba would be a free nation and our victory would have been assured in Vietnam.
I'm sorry but there's not going to be any praise from me about Johnny Kennedy and his corrupt clan. Sure, he may have lowered taxes but that doesn't begin to offset the evil he allowed to flourish on his watch.

Kennedy Jr. is convinced that a lone gunman wasnt solely responsible for the assassination of his uncle, President John F. KennedyWe may never know the real truth, since law enforcement in Texas decided to parade around the assassin, for the cameras, allowing the assassin to be assassinated.
Ya just knew anything else coming out of this event was incompetent, convoluted and compromised.

Agreed. Actually, Kennedy was too busy making out with 2 or 3 women every day to pay much attention to his job. As you say, he stole the election from Nixon with the Chicago Machine, which his gangster father had been involved with. He gave us the Bay of Pigs, ensured the loss of Vietnam by assassinating our ally there, and caved repeatedly to Kruschev.
And he chose LBJ to be his VP so he could also steal the Texas votes.
That, of course, gave us LBJ and the Great Society, which put our deficits on steroids and built a huge welfare class permanently on the Democrat plantation, finishing the work that FDR had begun.

To accept the Warren Commission’s conclusions of a single unaided assassin, you have to accept the concept of BOTH Oswald and Ruby being lone nuts.

It was a hugely crucial election and I wonder how different things would have been had the election not be stolen. Of course what I state here is purely speculative but I'll go ahead and envision what would (or more accurately, could have happened) had the Kennedy crooked clan not stolen the pivotal 1960 presidential election:
- Nixon would have easily been re-elected in 1964.
- Barry Goldwater would have won in 1968 and 1972.
- Ronald Reagan would have won, most appropriately, in 1976 during the Bicentennial, and would have gotten a second term by a tremendous landslide in 1980. There would have been at least a quarter century without a 'Rat in the White House.
- Cuba would be free and a strong ally of America. Vietnam would be united and a land of liberty, likewise a friend of the United States. Cowed by our unyielding military might, Korea would have kicked out the commies. Both the Soviets and Red China would have retrenched and become nothing more than bit players on the world state, with both eventually transforming to capitalist economies.
- Two of the evils of the 1960's would have never happened: 1). The immigration reform act of 1964, done as a tribute to JFK, which opened the floodgates to third-world types and undid Eisenhower's "Operation Wetback". 2). The so-called "Great Society" would have never happened and, consequently, the riots of the 1960s would not have happened.
- The hippie movement and the counterculture likewise would have lacked the environment that enabled those forms of wickedness.
In short, a 24-year span of Nixon, Goldwater and Reagan that I envisioned had the JFK treachery not transpired, would have resulted in a country very much like what the Founding Fathers had established. Oh...and we'd never what an Obama was.
