Hi, LTOS!
Great to see you. Marissa kept me busy in December. In addition to her violin classes for school orchestra and choir practic, she had Saturday guitar lessons.
We have taken a break from guitar lessons for January. Hope there will be a place for her to start again in February.
In December, she participated in the school Christmas program. She sang in the choir and had a duet. Then there was a Christmas Pageant at the local high school.. She was just part of the choir there.
She played her guitar and sang Rockin Round the Christmas Tree at a Holiday Pageant at the drug treatment center where her mother is serving the remainder of her sentence.
Her school music teacher told me that she asked to play her guitar and sing at the next musical. He said he is looking for music for her. If they have a talent show this year, I’m sure she will pick one of HER favorites.
Wishing you a wonderful Friday.

Thank you, Jaycee.
Since I haven’t made any new graphics for at least 6 months, I searched my graphics by Billie and Lori. That one looked like a good choice for this cold Friday.
How are you doing? You are still in my prayers.
Have a wonderful Friday.

Ahh .... thank you, Yorkie. The cake looks delicious.
I had a nice birthday ... didn’t do anything special but it felt wonderful to relax.
Marissa got some money for Christmas and it was burning a hole in her pccket. I did take her shopping yesterday at a little boutique that she found last Saturday. Would you believe that she bought suspenders?
Hope you are doing okay. I’ve been thinking of you.
Have a beautiful Red Friday.

I’ve written so many checks and addressed so many envelopes! It took time as sometimes my writing turns to scribble.
My tremor is making it hard to use the mouse..
I did not prepare individual responses for Sunday.
Thank you for your sweet comments on my rose..It’s an oldie.

Happy Friday, Amy! Great to see you this evening!
Yes - I got to spend Friday the 21st until Christmas Eve in the hospital. Had numerous tests - MRI and CT of the noggin' among them - all came back clean.
I hope you had a Great Christmas and New Year!

I had a great birthday. Nothing special but a night out at Golden Corral for dinner.
Mrs dd returned from her trip to Hawaii on the 29th. I was unable to join with family members because of continuing back pain and related issues from my cancer issues. I am cancer free but issues related to my surgery procedure I decided to stay home and babysit all the family dogs while family members went to Kona on the Big Island. Great pictures from several camera snapshots from my family members.
I got a year older on New Year’s Day but I’m still the same old guy no matter what the calendar may present.
I had birthday wishes from my two remaining sisters and my twin brother. I’m blessed with my family and all the extensions from our family.
So many family members I’ve never met, but we are all tied together dating back to the early 1900’s and my Dad and Mom’s family members.
I’m proud of my family from near and far.
Bless our Lord for His Grace upon us.

Time Out
January 5, 2013
El Bulli restaurant, 2 hours north of Barcelona, is so popular that customers must reserve a table 6 months in advance. But noted Spanish chef Ferran Adrià decided to close the doors of his award-winning restaurant for 2 years so he and his staff could have time to think, plan, and innovate. Adrià told Hemispheres Magazine, If we are winning all the prizes, why change? Working 15 hours a day leaves us very little time to create. In the midst of great success, they took time out for what is most important to them.
The first-century church in Antioch experienced a time of exciting growth when a great number believed and turned to the Lord (Acts 11:21). As a result, Barnabas and Saul came to teach the new believers (vv.25-26). But along with the hard work, they took time to seek the Lord through prayer and fasting (13:2-3). Through this, God revealed His plan for taking the gospel into Asia.
Few people can take 2 years off to think and plan. But all of us can build time into our schedule to seek the Lord earnestly through prayer. As we open our hearts and minds to God, He will be faithful to reveal the steps of life and service that honor Him.
There is a blessed calm at eventide
That calls me from a world of toil and care;
How restful, then, to seek some quiet nook
Where I can spend a little time in prayer. Bullock
Prayer is as important as breathing.
Read: Acts 11:19-26; 13:1-3

HAPPY CATURDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
Gus - The Theatre Cat A Poem By T S Eliot
Gus is the Cat at the Theatre Door. His name, as I ought to have told you before, Is really Asparagus. That's such a fuss To pronounce, that we usually call him just Gus. His coat's very shabby, he's thin as a rake, And he suffers from palsy that makes his paw shake. Yet he was, in his youth, quite the smartest of Cats-- But no longer a terror to mice and to rats. For he isn't the Cat that he was in his prime; Though his name was quite famous, he says, in its time. And whenever he joins his friends at their club (Which takes place at the back of the neighbouring pub) He loves to regale them, if someone else pays, With anecdotes drawn from his palmiest days. For he once was a Star of the highest degree-- He has acted with Irving, he's acted with Tree. And he likes to relate his success on the Halls, Where the Gallery once gave him seven cat-calls. But his grandest creation, as he loves to tell, Was Firefrorefiddle, the Fiend of the Fell.
"I have played," so he says, "every possible part, And I used to know seventy speeches by heart. I'd extemporize back-chat, I knew how to gag, And I knew how to let the cat out of the bag. I knew how to act with my back and my tail; With an hour of rehearsal, I never could fail. I'd a voice that would soften the hardest of hearts, Whether I took the lead, or in character parts. I have sat by the bedside of poor Little Nell; When the Curfew was rung, then I swung on the bell. In the Pantomime season I never fell flat, And I once understudied Dick Whittington's Cat. But my grandest creation, as history will tell, Was Firefrorefiddle, the Fiend of the Fell."
Then, if someone will give him a toothful of gin, He will tell how he once played a part in East Lynne. At a Shakespeare performance he once walked on pat, When some actor suggested the need for a cat. He once played a Tiger--could do it again-- Which an Indian Colonel purused down a drain. And he thinks that he still can, much better than most, Produce blood-curdling noises to bring on the Ghost. And he once crossed the stage on a telegraph wire, To rescue a child when a house was on fire. And he says: "Now then kittens, they do not get trained As we did in the days when Victoria reigned. They never get drilled in a regular troupe, And they think they are smart, just to jump through a hoop." And he'll say, as he scratches himself with his claws, "Well, the Theatre's certainly not what it was. These modern productions are all very well, But there's nothing to equal, from what I hear tell, That moment of mystery When I made history As Firefrorefiddle, the Fiend of the Fell."
