Thanks FReepers!

A list of the PRO second amendment businesses will be a lot shorter and save internet bandwidth.

In fact, outside of the sporting goods industry, you will find few business that will even admit the 2nd amendment exists!

I think it’s pretty standard for bars not to allow firearms - at least in Connecticut (kind of why they normally don’t serve alcohol at gun ranges). Buffalo Wild Wings is a bar - so that might be the issue.

One way:

Ask the owner, which would mean only going to restaurants where you can actually talk to the owner.

A business advertizing that it is gun free. What could possibly go wrong?

When I was stationed at Hood 40 years ago the honky tonks in the surrounding areas had “check your gun” signs at the doors. It worked OK I guess. Saw and took part in a few bar fights but never saw a shot fired. Those were the days.:-)

The entire Mall of America is posted at the exterior entrances. What they don’t know won’t hurt them. Everyone
I know, carries whenever they go there.

Some states require such signs and others it is the law if over 51% of the business’s income from alcohol consumed ON THE PREMISES.

Thus carry in a liquor store is legal yet beer and wings joint such as BWW’s and Hooters etc must ban carry per said states BS gun laws.

May not be the owners or companies polices at all....

Just saying. All is not what it appears as to pro or con on that issue.

My experience / opinion here in Texas with concealed carry....

Stay safe !

What state are you in? Before you start getting a bunch of people spouting off places, you should know that many places are required by LAW, not company policy, to not allow firearms on their premises.

For example, in Texas, any place that sells alcohol as more than 50% of their income, for on-site consumption, is required to post a sign, which disallows concealed carry. Also, racetracks or any location a collegiate or professional sporting event takes place.
However, Texas law doesn’t really mention longguns aside from displaying them in a ‘public place in a manner calculated to alarm’, so you can take those anywhere but a post office or airport secure area. (Federal longgun bans.)

So, the only place I’ve actually seen, that legally disallows carry, is the Hilton Anatole hotel in downtown Dallas. I’ve never seen the 30.06 sign anywhere else. Some places may have a circle-slash no-handgun sign, but that has no legal meaning in Texas, so I don’t worry about them.

US Govt is anti-2nd Amemndment biz:
For 200 years we have been bringing home war trophy weapons legally and now then this crap and they want to take away everything my ancestors fought for in 1775-81. What a bunch of SOB traitors!
Infringements starting even before WW2 with the lame excuse “to protect US Public from criminals guns”, the US govt takes away Our Guns!

“War relics must be registered
Nov 19 1946 Plattsburgh Press Republican
ALBANY, NY * — Servicemen.
ex-servicemen and others who have certain types
of unregistered war trophies as souvenirs may be in violation of the Gun Control Act of 1968.
unless these weapons or devices are registered with the Internal Revenue Service by Dec 1. An Internal Revenue spokesman said that machine guns, sawed-off shotguns, sawed-off rifles, bazookas, rockets, mortars, bombs, mines, grenades and similar destructive devicesthat have been retained as souvenirs or war trophies mustbe registered or turned in by June deadline.
Representatives of the IRS Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division offer assistance registering
or disposing of any such weapons or devices, he said. Owners should not bring the weapon or device to the IRSbut should call, write or visit the nearest Alcohol and Tobacco Tax or other IRS office for informationand assistance-— The law provides that those
who fail to register or dispose of the specified firearms or destructive devices which they possess, may be subject to imprisonment up to 10 years, fines up to $10,000. or both Civil penalties can also be imposed and property forfeitures take place

Trophies to Be Made Legal
in Program Under National
Firearms Act
Machineguns and machine pistols, war trophies of foreign make, must
be registered and deactivated to bring their possessors “within the law.” For this purpose Treasury
Department operatives will establish offices at police headquarters this morning and will maintain a
12-hour schedule for the next three days, from 9:00 a. m to 9:00 p. m. Veterans possessing any firearm of foreign make can qualify themselves to keep their souvenirs lawfully
by bringing them to police headquarters on any of the days—
today through Thursday. After registrations, deactivation of the weapons makes them unserviceable but in no way mars the appearance of the guns as souvenirs. All guns are
duly returned to their owners. Registration of guns is a nationwide program. Investigations made in recent months under the National Firearms Act have a bearing on the risk and problem of exceptionally dangerous war trophy weapons,
brought or shipped to this country by veterans, falling into
unauthorized hands by theft or unrecorded transfer and being put to unlawful uses never intended or contemplated by the veteran. Already there have been committed
a large number of major crimes in various sections of the
country, where foreign automatic weapons, introduced as war trophies or souvenirs were used. The drive cf the Treasury Department is aimed at preventing these weapons
and firearms from falling into the hands of gangsters, racketeers, bank robbers and other types
of criminals.
The Alcohol Tax Unit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, is charged with the enforcement of the National Firearms Act, which provides a penalty not to exceed $2,000 or imprisonment
not to exceed five years, or
both, in the event a person is convicted
of violating any provisions
of the Act. Veterans, register your
foreign weapons today!”

These SOB`s already broke their own law with fast n furious -they gave weapons “into the hands of gangsters, racketeers, bank robbers and other types
of criminals”.. Treason!

I haven’t been out to eat much recently. However I looked at as many entrances to businesses as possible. I haven’t seen any sort of no weapons/firearms allowed signs with the exception of the local indoor malls.

I look for the signs they are required to post if they don’t want me to be protected while in their establishment. If I see a sign, I go to to one of their competitors’ establishments.

Check out http://www.gunburger.com/GunBurger/Phoenix_AZ.html

It’s an AZ oriented site but many of the businesses listed are national chains. Note that some companies seem to have blanket policies while others seem to leave it up to the individual franchisee - Chipotle in Phoenix allows open carry but in Tucson has a no guns sign posted.

North Carolina..
Can’t carry in any restaurant that serves alcohol, Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc.
Can’t carry in any place you pay admission, movie theater, etc.
No government property, buildings, fairgrounds, etc.
And of course, any establishment posted ‘No Firearms’.

In need of some major changes.
