Last March 23, my wife of 54 years was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with a positive Philadelphia chromosome. She spent several weeks in the hospital, underwent chemotherapy with all it's problems, and still maintained a positive attitude. She had prayers from all over the country, including from you all on FreeRepublic.
On November 27, we went to the University of Alabama Birmingham medical center to begin a clinical trial on a new drug that had only been tested on rats and monkeys. She was required to have at least ten percent leukemia cells in her bone marrow to qualify for this trial.
They did a bone marrow biopsy and gave us the results on Thursday. She had zero percent and when they tested for the Philadelphia chromsome cells, they found none. The doctor said she had never seen this before.
I want to thank everyone for their prayers and to tell you that God is there for you and answers your prayers.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!
God bless.
In this period of profound sadness, it’s good to hear a story with a happy ending.
Fantastic. Continued best wishes.
Merry Christmas to you and your wife.
That IS a great Christmas gift.
Praise Him! And Merry Christmas to you and yours, Sam.
That is wonderful news, sam! ‘Tis the season of miracles. G-d is always with us even when all seems lost and that is all we need to know. Thank You, G-d. Again.
In HIS name is Hope!
Merry Christmas
Thank you for the good news. For those of us who are praying for others with cancer, can you tell us what the new drug is?
Yes, He is. Thank you for sharing your wonderful news with us here at FR.
How wonderful! I work in clinical research for a Big Pharma and love to hear stories like this.
What a wonderful blessing for you and your wife and a faithful reminder to the rest of us. May your lives continue to be blessed.
Merry Christmas!
Awesome! :-)
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
Congratulations and an early Merry Christmas from me.
That is awesome
Yours is a story that gives hope and light.
Awesome! I’m so happy for you and your wife.
Merry Christmas!
Praise God. And I hope the FDA doesn’t bury the drug.
Praise God and Merry Christmas!
