How many of these Democrats did the NRA give money to and get re-elected?

Never mind the fact that the NRA goes into a hiding hole in the ground somewhere everytime there is a dust up, leaving 2nd Amendment Supporters and Law Abiding Gun Owners to fend for themselves, which brings the usual question around these times. Where is the NRA?

A more important question needs to be asked. As we see so-called "pro gun" Democrats warming up to tighter gun controls, according to reports, we may just see where are membership dues went to those who will not help. How many of these Democrats that will come out for gun control laws did the NRA give money to and help get re-elected? Most of us have had concerns with the way the NRA seems to eager to "negotiate" at times. Usually because it comes too close to giving up ground that should never be given up.

Many have the renewal forms coming in the mail. I'm sure many will be watching to see if they want to give any more to those who might actually work against the rights of gun owners/law abiding citizens.

Yep. Where’s John Tester? Where’s Max Baucus? Oh, their bosses in the Democrat party told them to shut up.

This is not the time for this argument. There are going to be a lot of bills coming down the pike that will seek to completely strip the 2nd Amendment from the Constitution.

Causing a rift in the movement right now is not wise and in fact is quite foolish.

The one that pisses me off is Joe Manchin, he had a straight A+ rating with the NRA and was solidly pro-gun as governor of West Virginia, (he is even famous for shooting Obama’s cap and trade bill in a campaign commercial). Yet, a MONTH after he was reelected to a six year senate term (he had been serving the remainder of Byrds term before). He was one of FIRST to sign on to Diane Fienstein Assault Weapons Ban. Way to stab West Virgina gun owners in the back you liberal scumbag!

The NRA got Harry Reid re-elected. They’re not always on the right side.

This is exactly the time for this concern! (There is no “argument” to it. Nothing to debate here. The fact of what is going on with NRA supported candidates going soft is fact). You don’t wait until it is too late! Giving even a little ground only leads to bigger problems and loss of rights. The only reason someone would not be aware of this reality is if they were living in a cave for the past 30 years. Or...if they were one of those who is also soft on protecting our rights to own guns...

The leftist MSM is typically going to come down hard on the NRA as they always do following a tragic event as just happened.

So now YOU feel the need to do so too? Sheesh!

Let’s concentrate on the attack from the Left at the moment. When that has lessened or temporarily abated, then we can have a knock down, drag out internecine squabble.

I just want to prioritize. Besides, politics makes for strange bed fellows as you should well know.

Stop the Left first, then straighten out our side after.

You know, one of the things that struck me this morning, as two of my brain cells managed to fire at the same time, was this:

The NRA knows where each of its membership lives.

The membership knows little or nothing about the composition of the NRA other than a few in public leadership.

NRA members do not know each other.

I am not a big tinfoil hat guy, but if you connect the dots on the above the implications are disturbing.

Didn’t Joe Manchin also pretend to be against the health care law but voted for it? Once a disgusting Dem, always a disgusting Dem..no one can trust a Dem..they say one thing but the second they are elected they turn around and stab you right in the back, that is why they are Dems

I have read that the NRA doesn’t care the party, the person has to have a pro second amendment background....just repeating what I read, don’t know who would qualify in the democratic party, except one of the members of congress and a liberal on everything except gun control. He recently left congress after 50 years...and was from Michigan...

Hey Brat, why don't you cut to the chase here and speak what's really on your mind. You'd like nothing better than to see the NRA defunded and put out of business, right?

This is the single largest reason I don’t support the NRA as a member or financial contributor. When the NRA endorsed Harry Reid for re-election in Nevada, was the final nail in the coffin.

ArmyBratproud didn’t cause a rift - it was opened up by the NRA itself. The NRA chose the single-issue attitude to politics over objections by its membership. The NRA lost lots of members - including me - over their misguided endorsement of dingy harry. (actually what lost me was their intransigence to discussing political endorsement issues with their membership - they refused to answer our questions).

Thus, I see the question of “How many of these Democrats did the NRA give money to and get re-elected?” entirely valid and reasonable.

NRA members do not know each other.

I know hundreds of NRA members and they know me.

This is why I stopped renewing my NRA membership. Their policy seems to be to support any incumbent, regardless of party if they are “pro 2nd amendment”. For this reason, they withhold support from a challenger who may be a better candidate (and even more “pro 2nd amendment”) than the guy they endorse.

They didn’t.

That said I let my 30+ year membership go in 2010 when they did support two scummy dem congressional encumbents in CO.
