BEAVER FALLS -- A dispute over a cigarette was apparently the reason a Beaver Falls woman was shot to death outside her home Saturday afternoon.
Three teenage boys from Beaver Falls have been charged in the death of Kayla Peterson, 22, of 516 13th St. They are: Marcus Velasquez, also known as Marcus Cleckley, 14, of 2409 Seventh Ave.; Todavia Cleckley, 14, of 70 Harmony Dwellings; and Kyle Goosby Jr., 13, of 109 11th St.
William Bailey, 28, said just after 3 p.m. he had walked to J’s News on Seventh Avenue to buy cigarettes, and as he left the store a group of three boys began to follow him and ask for a cigarette. Bailey said he ignored the boys, and they followed him the entire way to Peterson’s house.
“I didn’t look at them. I didn’t acknowledge them,” Bailey said. He said the boys yelled at him, used foul language and got progressively louder.
When Bailey arrived at the house, he said Peterson, who was his fiancé, came out and said to the group of boys, “Why don’t you guys get a job.” He said she also told them to quit running the streets.
That’s when one of the teens pulled out a gun, Bailey said. He said when Goosby saw the gun he ran. “He didn’t want any part of that,” Bailey said.

The kids will cry about how young they are and how their young lives are destroyed by this.
The victim was young too, and now she has no life.

Actually, it was the lack of supervision and parenting of the kids, that lead to their delinquency and the opportunity to “acquire” the guns.

Well they don't have guns. Gun control laws make that illegal. And everyone know that gun control prevents criminals from having guns. Just as any elected black Democrat.
Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh said they will be tried as adults.
If there is any justice to this they will get the maximum sentence, but I'm guessing that they will be out in about 7 years ready to commit more crimes. These three should be shot as a simple public safety precuation. Murdering filth at 14 does not give much hope for becoming productive citizens when they get out of jail. Too bad they didn't shot a cop, then they would all be killed while resisting arrest.

Actually it was the lack of the boyfriend carrying a gun that allowed this pos to kill his girlfriend.
Sparky needs to be brought out of retirement.
He said he’s gotten calls of condolences and apologies from the families of the boys.....Yeah, Todacious ( or whatever) just turned his life around. Don’t press charges.
If it wasn’t for the cigarettes, Kayla Peterson would be alive today.

Notice that the paper named all 3 of the youts involved and nary a comment from uncle obie about them looking like his son/s if he had one. New gun laws? They already violated existing laws and whoever provided access should be charged as accessory to murder also. Not to mention the whole cigarette violation. Will costas have any comment?

While I feel bad for her family and fiance, I must say that this was an awfully high price to pay for the satisfaction of being able to express your opinion.
People should think twice before initiating a confrontation.
