Finally, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida a Tea Party darling and possible 2016 presidential candidate admits that dinosaurs and humans didnt co-exist.
Last month, when GQ asked Rubio how old do you think the Earth is? he stammered through an answer.
Im not a scientist, man. I can tell you what recorded history says. I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think thats a dispute amongst theologians. He continued, Whether the Earth was created in 7 days, or 7 actual eras, Im not sure well ever be able to answer that. Its one of the great mysteries.

If it weren’t for shallow stereotypes and racial profiles, the NYT wouldn’t know what to talk about.
This asshat’s name fits him perfectly.
They do have some excellent coverage of business, travel, and technology, but they have their share of culturally clueless bloviators.
Benghazi?
Fiscal cliff?
Prolonged period of high unemployment?
Illegal immigration?
Forget all that stuff! It doesn’t matter!!! We’re here to talk about the important stuff ... like dinosaurs!
Looks like the liberals are already scared of Rubio; the smears begin.
Folks who feel the need to shout down Creationists should examine their own motives very carefully. They are close to becoming the same kind of rigid, close-minded thugs that they claim their opponents are.
He must be over the target.
As Rush said a week or two ago the question (which always seem out of place and especially contrived) was meant specifically as fodder for effluent like this.
Gee... if the NYT is so smart... then they can publish their opinion of when, how, & how long the earth has been in existence.
They could at least print Obama’s answer to the same question.
Some scientists say that birds are living dinosaurs...so people and dinosaurs have co-existed.
Throw the question back at them. Make them expose their position.
It may seem like an irrelevant question but it isn’t. I would not vote for someone who explicitly stated that they believe the Earth was created in 6 literal days. They are too irrational in my opinion to hold office and vote on laws effecting everyone’s lives. If a private citizen believed that, that’s fine. I don’t have to deal with them.
Many people are what I call culturally religious. They go to church regularly but when it comes to believing every doctrine that is preached in church they don’t really believe in much of it. So I might vote for them if the alternative was a disaster waiting to happen like Obama. After all I voted for Romney but I don’t know how much of the Mormon doctrine he truly believes. If I knew he really believed half of it I would have had a much harder time voting for him. For me, it is troubling that Senator Rubio hemmed and hawed about answering that question because it tells me he might believe or at the very least he hasn’t given the subject much thought.
What’s it matter? It is what it is. What a person believes about when and how the earth was created won’t change the facts.
As I said it matters, at least to me as a voter, because it goes to their rationality. Someone who believes that the Earth was created in 6 literal days is too irrational to be trusted to vote on my behalf. A politician is campaigning for everyones’ vote and not just fundamentalist Christians.
They would never ask Obama a question like that, unless Obama had the question in advance. NYT would be worried that he might answer, "Oh, probably 5 or 6oo years". Remember the "57 states"?
They did though the answer might have been translated from the original Austrian.

I’d be happy to see journalists start with simple questions like ‘do you believe in the philosophy behind the laffer curve’, or perhaps ‘what are your thoughts on the current relevance of the 10th amendment.’
Me too but I think the question of the age of the Earth is fair even if there are more important things to discuss. What do you think of Marxism would be good one to start out with also.
