Merry Christmas Jim!!
“when you know Im away from my computer for my cataract surgery.”
I went through that on both eyes this past April, May, June. I’m glad it’s over, but think of people years ago before this surgery was available - they went blind. I now see 20-20 with glasses.
Merry Christmas to all.
((((onyx))))
Appreciate the ping Jim.
Merry Christmas to you, and yours, and all our FReepin’ FRiends. Hope it is a great Christmas for all.
Prayers up for Tommy onyx. Hope all is well for the young fellow. After the accident earlier this year you all don’t need anymore medical anxieties. Prayers up for your whole family for no more. Just everybody get well, and stay that way.
Merry Christmas to y’all and your loved ones.
Oh sweet onyx...I had no idea! Bless his heart and your whole family’s heart. That is very scary but so glad he got diagnosed and treated. Is he with you all for Christmas?

Will keep little Tommy in my prayers, onyx. Being home is the best medicine for his spirit.

O RADIANT DAWN
December 21
Symbols: Sun with Rays
Come, and shine on those seated in darkness, and in the shadow of death.
O Dawn, splendor of eternal light, and sun of justice, come, and shine on those seated in darkness, and in the shadow of death.
O Oriens, splendor lucis aeternae, et sol justitiae: veni, et illumina sedentes in tenebris, et umbra mortis.
Just as the natural sun gives light and life to all upon whom its rays fall, so Christ, the Rising Dawn, dispels darkness and brings eternal life and light.
Recommended Readings: Malachias 4:2-6
Yes indeed Marcella. I’m glad it’s over and will be even glader when I can get fitted for glasses Jan 30. In the meantime, I’m flying fairly blind. Had the Myopia cut in half so it would not be a shock to me since I have had glasses all my life. So now I have to wait for my vision to stabilize before being fitted for glasses. I can read, but can’t see very far.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
I know exactly what you mean. When one eye was fixed and I had a lens in glasses for that one but the other wasn't fixed, it was like I was seeing in two different worlds, and it made my balance off. Then, the other eye was fixed but he had to stay in that one longer and that made that eye swell, so I was blind in that eye for a few days until the swelling went down, then it had to stabilize, then I ordered the lens for that eye - it just seemed to go on and on forever.
You will eventually get past the “fairly blind” part and have the right glasses and be able to see far and close again. We just have to go through that or become blind and that is not an option.
I have a small bridge (top of nose) and have to have small glasses. My friend was with me and we both headed for the same frame for me to try. It was pink titanium (didn't know it was titanium), and it fit perfectly. The adjuster looked up and said, “Those are a child's frame, but they fit.” So, my reading glasses are a child's frame and were terribly expensive due to being titanium. I didn't care because they fit.
Let me know how you are getting along with it and how it is when you get the final glasses.
Onyx, I’m so glad I caught your post so I can pray for your grandson. Keep us informed of his progress. I read the link you posted on the kawasaki disease. The prospects sound more positive than negative, so I am holding to the thought that he will come through this rather quickly. It really scares us when the little ones are sick. God watch over him.
It is a process for sure, but I praise God for the improvement I already have and for successful surgery. My doctor is a woman and she is fantastic. She did both of my hubby’s eyes the old fashioned way (not laser), because he had Shingles in his right eye some years ago. I think he’s in love with the doctor because she did such a good job on his eyes (he says that’s the reason. I think it’s because she is a beautiful Greek girl). She works fast too. It didn’t take her 5 minutes to complete the operation.
O KING OF THE GENTILES
December 22
Symbols: Crown and Scepter
Come, and deliver man, whom You formed out of the dust of the earth.
O King of the Gentiles and their desired One, the Cornerstone that makes both one; Come, and deliver man, whom You formed out of the dust of the earth.
O Rex Gentium, et desideratus earum, lapisque angularis, qui facis utraque unum: veni, et salva hominem, quem de limo formasti.
The crown and scepter signify Christ's universal kingship. As we sing in the fifth O Antiphon, Christ is not only the King of the Jewish nation, but the "Desired One of all," the cornerstone which unites both Jew and Gentile.
Recommended Readings: Apocalypse 15:1-4
Prayers for You, for Beloved Grandson and all your Blessed Family!
Prayers sent for his full recovery! God Bless.
And a Very Merry Christmas to you and all my FReeper friends as well and a blessed and happy New Year
