Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place
*** Our Father, we long for the simple beauty of Christmas ~for all the old familiar melodies, words, and symbols that remind us of that great miracle when He who had made all things came one night as a babe, to lie in the crook of a womans arm. *** But in that longing, let us even more yearn for your renewed presence among us even as we celebrate and expect the Coming of your Son..... *** May the loving kindness of this Advent Season and the true Spirit of Christmas not only creep into our hearts this season, but there abide, so that not even the return to earthly cares and responsibilities, not all the festivities of our own devising may cause it to creep away weeping. *** May the joy and spirit of Christmas remain with us now and forever. In the name of Jesus, who came to save His people from their sins, even in that lovely name we pray. Amen.
Blessings To All Who Enter Here

We Need Hope
December 2, 2012
Adam and Eve didnt need hope because they didnt lack anything they needed. And they had every reason to think that life would go on as pleasantly as it startedwith every good thing that God had given them to enjoy. But they put it all at risk for the one thing the serpent said that God had withheld: the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 2:17; 3:5). So when the serpent came with his offer, Eve was quick to indulge, and Adam quick to follow (3:6). They got what they wanted: knowledge. But they lost what they had: innocence. With the loss of innocence came the need for hopehope that their guilt and shame could be removed and goodness restored.
Christmas is the season of hope. Children hope for the latest popular toy or game. Families hope that everyone can make it home for the holidays. But the hope that Christmas commemorates is much bigger than our holiday desires. Jesus, the Desire of All Nations (Hag. 2:7), has come! He has delivered us from the power of darkness, bought our redemption, and forgiven our sins (Col. 1:13-14). He even made it possible for us to be wise about what is good and innocent about evil (Rom. 16:19). Christ in us gives us the hope of glory.
Praise God for the hope of Christmas!
What are the prospects for this earth?
What hope is there for man?
A world restored through Jesus Christ
In whom we see Gods plan. D. DeHaan
Hope for the Christian is a certainty
because its basis is Christ.

Thanks for the post about the U.S.S. Enterprise, Dave. I found this on the facebook Military Aviation Archives page....
We conclude our farewell salute to USS ENTERPRISE with this head-on photo taken only a couple of weeks ago. It is one of the last ever with aircraft still on board. Note the Rolling Airframe Missile on the port bow sponson where the CIWS used to be.
ENTERPRISE served the United States proudly for more than half a century. We salute her and we thank every crewman who ever served as a part of her crew for your magnificent service. You have written well in the pages of the history of the U. S. Navy.
May God bless the nation she served.
ENTERPRISE, you will never be forgotten.
