Not sure what this writers is talking about about. DRC wines have been in the stratosphere for decades.

As long as I can get cheap red at Walmart, HEB, or Trader Joe’s, I’m happy (and healthy). And so far, not a problem.

Haven’t they heard of price controls? ((snort!!)) Have the govt set the price of wine so everyone can afford it. Whoever makes the wine certainly has certainly made enough money in the past exploiting worker grapes.

is Burgundy about to go the way of Bordeaux

This is confusing.

I thought a wine can only be called a "Bordeaux" wine if the grapes and the wines made from the grapes come from France.
