The maelstrom of political controversy regarding Free Republic founder Jim Robinson and his attitude towards the then Republican presidential candidate front runner and odds-on favorite to win the nomination, as anointed by the msm as the weakest candidate in the Repuplican field, was one punctuated by severe criticism of Mr. Robinson for his uncompromising, vituperative take-no-prisoners stance towards the liberal bent, RINO candidate Mr. Romney,as unacceptable under any circumstances as Republican Party nominee in the 2012 presidential election.
While his intensely vociferous stance against Mr. Romney surprised, confused, alienated many, the political rationale for the utter blanket rejection of Mr. Romney as candidate was one that remained fundamentally true to the principles of Conservatism, in that Mr.Romney in his record of being a liberal-bent, RINO, had not earned the right to wear the crown as Repubican party nominee as champion, defender of party principles, when he espouses liberal policies that true Republican conservatives find particularly galling equally unacceptable.
In the end, months after the controversy had died down, the election of 2012 having ended, it comes as no surprise to have ended in the manner in which Mr. Robinson did all that he could and more, the sagacity and prescience in which he had already determined the outcome to the election is one in which should teach us all not to repeat the mistakes of the past and to heed those we have faith and admiration for in their reading of the political map and and its various minefields.
I promised to answer by tomorrow, but for now my fingers are getting tired.
I don't think I brought up gay marriage "Was it gay marriage that you said you didnt have a problem with?" My mentor in my industry is quite gay, it's something that doesn't resonate with me, but nor does 443 hertz, and that doesn't mean I resent my guitar. Gay marriage is a re-definition of a word, which is how the left attacks the constitution. So no, I'm not for it.
And anyway (grammar error!) that's a dangling participle (end of your quote.) Send me good thinking, good grammar - something cogent, and I will respond. Since I already promised to respond to your earlier thought by tomorrow, I will keep my word on that reguardless. (dangling in nature, technically OK.)
I was never a fan of Gingrich but after much thought I settled on the belief that he would be the ideal VP choice for Rick Santorum. Both had broad appeal. I saw it as a matter of putting the diplomatic face out front with the harsh whip toting taskmaster backing him up.
The way the campaigns are conducted needs to change. I’d like to see more open teamwork earlier. Romney could have been stopped dead in Michigan if Gingrich and Santorum had appeared together and stated clearly that whichever won the race would absolutely choose the other for the running mate. After all Michigan came down to a 3000 vote difference between Santorum and Romney which translated to the 50/50 delegate split and a late night rule change to break the tie in Romney’s favor.
Ryan was a huge disappointment...unlike Palin in 2008, he simply did not have the courage to ignore them and "go rogue."
Heck, back when Jim first announced his "truce" and they started pouring out of the woodworks, several of them actually beseeched him to start banning those of us who just could not get on board the Romney-GOP-E bandwagon.
Remember that?
There’s not enough conservatives in this country to win anymore. Hard fact to face but true. People under 30 and non-whites are voting Dem by default. Were losing the demographics. How to convince them to vote even repub lite much less true conservatism .... I don’t have the answer.
Make that 14 democrat held states.
I tend to speak my mind as it is, saying exactly what's on my mind without compunction. The majority of commenters found enough reasons to criticize my post from various perspectives and even bothered mailing me their opinion of me being a brown-noser.The silliest reasons for criticizing me was that I was being a brown-noser, meaning it wasn't genuine and was written to curry favor with Mr. Robinson. an accusation I think is downright ridiculous, written by small-minded people who really have nothing to say unless it's to malign or insult.
Brown-nosing is an exercise in kissing as* so to speak, in order for someone to look upon you with favoritism, wanting to get some special privilege I otherwise would not be entitled to. But here at FR there absolutely nothing I could gain by brown-nosing Mr. Robinson.
I don't pay to be a member here and while I participate in the monthly money drive, that would just about sum up all you can possibly get from FR. So there is really nothing to be gained by brown-nosing Mr. Robinson.
Even more, I posted a comment by him a few posts ago that does not reflect upon him in a positive light which would kind of make accusations of brown-nosing rather a moot point.
MNevertheless, your cmoment is very much appreciated for its sincerity and sense of genuine expression on my behalf.
Thanks again very much.
Why are you Still trying to correspond with me, now via FR mail, expressing one dumb thing that only gets dumber less coherent. Please , save your self-respect and dignity and cease the meaningless hapless insults.
2. As agreed, I will send you via FR mail all posts I've thought of, was inspired to post here at FR , which I will send to you via FR mail as soon as I think of it.
3. I will wait 48 hours before posting any of the items I sent you to give you the chance to think of it on your own and then post it under your user name, Las Vegas Ron, for a period of six months upon which you will decide whether to extend our agreement another six months
4. I understand that any posts not conveyed to you as agreed upon will be subject to breach of contract, penalties, additional fees and extension of additional six months for each violation of our contract as agreed upon by your attorney and signed by me
“I don’t disagree...BUT, why do you believe a true conservative could ever win under present day conditions with all the government entitlements and handouts? Who do you believe could have beaten Obama?”
At the end of the day, does that really matter? At least with a REAL conservative it would be a rejection of what conservatisim stands for not some wishy washy hybrid.
IF my views/values as a conservative (ALL of them - Social/Moral, National Defense, & Fiscal) are going to be rejected. Then let it be because they were clearly explained by the candidate that represents me and those ideas. Then at least I lose with dignity because my ideas were rejected.
Romney’s loss was a double loss because not only did he lose, but he damaged conservatism in the process because he wasn’t truly conservative and he let the press and others define him and what little conservatism he represented.
I wished it was possible to identify and remove from FR all those that agressively pushed the ABO line. It was a mistake then, and really obvious now. Jim Robinson attempted to do this at first, but too many had drank that “coolaid” and it would have cripple the forum. Too many long time Freepers where of the “winning at all costs mentallity” and it has degenerated this forum.
Yep...they are. Live by the sword, etc.
Well, I unfortunately was not aware of his backtracking
***Now that you are aware of it, how much of your original post do you walk back? Even the title no longer makes sense. How do we rebuild the brand of conservatism?
You are a liar, and completely unworthy of posting privileges her:

Listen Frien, I know your heart is in the right place but I disagree with your prmise.
Ive had an exceedingly hard week an am just a bit pissed off.
My father had a major heart attack last saturday, but is improving though still in the hospital. I had to put my beloved dog down Tuesday and witness his passing in my arms, I couldnt leave him.
Then the results came in on this election later that night and quite frankly my temper is streched.
Im not looking for sympathy, and perhaps Im not viewing this as I should be.
Ive seen your posts and repsct your opinion....except this one.
To tell you the truth, right now I feel like punching some walls
Great point.
You wrote the exact same thing in the email you sent me earlier. And then I told you immediately very emphatically that I was going to drop the cynicism, the satire, be extraordinary serious, somber, in asking you plain and simple if there was anything I could possibly do to ameliorate your pain, anxiety, if there was anything ANYTHING I could do on your behalf that would help you deal with your current situation in any way.
You responded in a wholly irreverent way, with a totally jocular attitude as if your entire story was a ruse to get me to respond simply as way to have the last mocking word.
OK. So Here I go one last time. You’re saying you’re going through some terrible times and you want to punch some walls
What are you trying to say? You’re being cryptic in what you are saying, why you are saying it.
What is it that you want? What Can I offer you in what seems to be a request you are making?
Is there anything I can do to help you, anything, to help ameliorate the suffering, anxiety, pain, you are experiencing as a result of what you say you are going through?
Please let me know what’s going on and provide a little more detail so I can get a better idea of what you’re talking about.
All The Very Best,
lbryce
That’s pretty mild compared to some of the FReepmails I’ve gotten from the democrats who call themselves moderate.
One threatened to shoot me a few weeks back. LOL
