I’m not a cat person, but that is my attitude before my first cup of REAL coffee...which that PCP will have to pry out of my cold dead fingers I’m not giving it up. I REFUSE to drink decaf nasty stuff.
One early autumn morning as I drove to work in the dark, I was startled by a flash of brown in my headlights followed by the sound of something hitting the front of my car. I had clipped a deer at 70 miles per hour! It was only a glancing blow, and no damage was done to my car (or the deer, as far as I could tell), but it really shook me up. I had been in my usual autopilot mode for the familiar drive to the office, but the shock of the incident certainly got my attention. I was now fully alert and trying to calm a racing heartbeat. It was a most unpleasant wake-up call.
The apostle Peter offers us a different kind of wake-up callone that while unpleasant is necessary. He alerts us to a spiritual battle we are engaged in with a powerful enemy. Peter warns, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). This is a call to wake up, see the danger, and be ready for his attack!
Only when we are aware of the danger that faces us every day will we consciously seek the help we need. And only if we are on the alert will we lean on the strength of our Lord, who is greater than our spiritual enemy.
Read: 1 Peter 5:1-9
Good morning Mayor......great thought today to be sober and vigilant.
Looking to Jesus this day......

I prefer my real coffee. It would be hard to give it up. I’m sure everyone notices the reports that come out from time to time. One time they will say “coffee is bad for you” and several days later they will say “coffee is great for you and doesn’t harm you.” I use my own judgment! I drink 2 cups in the morning and thats about it for the day. Don’t think I could make it without my coffee.
I don’t trust any polls, especially about this election. My son tries to keep my spirits up when I get down from any bad poll numbers. I think this will be an election that won’t be decided for a few days after! How I jumped from coffee to the election, I don’t know. I guess “cause its driving me crazy.” I’ve never let an election get to me like this one and I think many of us feel the same way.
My son jokes and says “he thinks his cat is worried about the election.....LOLOL!”
Good Morning Amy......you sound like me..trying hard to come to Amy’s place amidst the stress in our lives here in Los Angeles.
Stopping to pray now for the election.
Oh Amy.....
Since yesterday and hearing about voting machine malfunctions in swing states I have been in tears with fear.
I am asking God to calm my troubled heart and to have mercy on us.
We have turned away from Him as a nation and deserve His turning away from us, but in wrath, remember mercy and deliver us from this evil , is my earnest prayer.
Good morning Jaycee. You just described me to a " T"..having trouble sleeping, and staying calm. Tears come so easily these days.
I do need to trust in God and stay in His Word ...
We know in our heart of hearts that God is sovereign and in control of the affairs of men.
Thru history, when believers have cried out to Him for deliverance, we have seen God’s power in miraculous ways.
My prayer today is that He will once again come in a spirit of deliverance and mercy, and that His people, believers across this nation, will go to their knees in confession and contrite spirit over their sinfulness. Yes, that means the church too...
me too Amy.....6pm pacific time in Los Angeles.
God Bless our Troops!!!
Beautiful graphic
Thank you, yorkie. Love you!
Happy November, Kitty; Happy Red Friday.
I’m praying about this election; I have been very nervous this past week. The DemWits cannot be trusted. I’m praying that God will not allow them to steal this election.
Father, hear our prayers.
Have a delightful day, Kitty.
Good morning, Polly. I haven’t talked to you for Ages!!!
I Need to come here to spend time with my friends during this stressful time.
Hope things will become less stressful for all of us after the election.
Wishing you a lovely day and a Blessed weekend.
I’m really trying to stay optimistic but it is difficult.
We must continue praying for our Country. God will see us through these trying times.
lol..that's because I have been AWOL for ages!!
I think I missed answering you yesterday. Sorry. ;(
This roller-coaster feeling is causing a lot of the stress we are feeling. Hearing about the voting machine malfunctions is really adding to my fears.
Praying that we can all be here Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning celebrating.
I have been AWOL a lot recently. I think I took the summer off. It has been hard trying to get reacquainted with everyone. When I returned I felt like I needed to introduce myself. :)
