I thought I read early on that no action was taken because they would be violating Libya’s sovereignty.

Sovereignty should only belong to states that provide security.

I was under the impression they said they didn’t want to violate their airspace. I would think a drone overhead is no different than a spooky as far as airspace violation.

The embassy is US soil. So if the drone was over the embassy it was in US air space

If that is the case, it makes me wonder if our drones received special dispensation, otherwise they would have been in violation of Libyan air space.

They didn't have any problem violating Libya's soverignty when Mad Mo was in power.

Now they care about sovereignty? They didnt seem to mind while flying helicopters into Pakistan to get OBL. Remember, they didnt inform the Paki’s.

The attack on an Ambassador is the key - that is an act of war.

Regardless of airspace or soil, there is always an attempt to save embassy staff.

And such rescue is entirely justified if an embassy comes under attack.

That is why U.S. Presidents have always given the authorization for the military to save embassy staff when they are in peril.

This admin has seemed to have no problem with airspace issues when it comes to Pakistan and Yemen.
