Clearly I can post and reply to threads, but looking for instruction on other functions. Specifically like posting pictures, quoting, font styles like underline, bold, strikeout, etc.
Is there a FR help section or link I can click on? Thanks!!!
Yes, indeed. And my proclivity for beer makes it all the more challenging.
FR is a great source of laughter, often at my own expense.
Insert a ping (sfl, bfl and bttt are common), and then trackback through your self pings.
Remember the real old days when someone wouldn’t close a tag, and there would be pages of size 80 font flashing red text? When that happened in a MiaT thread, it would take hours to open on dialup.
OK now I got “CREVO”-
Yeah, that would be like walking into a Bruce Lee fight scene with this crowd.
They’ll argue with you just to argue, and then show you a white blackbird and start quoting greek and whatnot.
Die Heretic Scum!!!
In the browser's address bar, add the post number at the end, and then hit the star to do a quick save in your browsers bookmarks.
For example, to go to this thread's post #20, You have "http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2950332/posts?page=18" in the browsers address bar. Add #20 to make it "http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2950332/posts?page=18#20" Then save that bookmark.
It was like landing on the Island of Misfit Bellicose Broken Toys Who Are Generally P_ssed About The State Of The Country And Ready To Kick Your Ass.
Loved it ever since.
Same here!
Knives, like the “Punahou Death Stare” are for pussies. Strictly hand-to-hand, or GTFO.
Is there a way to post (copy) a link to a specific #comment from a thread?
Who logs on?
Actually, most of the “mis-crevo-ants” have moved on to a venue called “Darwin Central” or some such.
Or been zotted.
Or just shut up.
Yeah. That's why styles don't work. Way too complicated to analyze and filter out harmful stuff. Used to be you could do stuff like <span style="background:yellow">some highlighted text</span>, and it would actually work.
You could also directly specify size 80 font. Now you have to do an approximation:
WTF‽
Yep. Lot of “quoted” threads had the italics version of the inverted-caps-lock-key-effect. Especially on hot threads where dozens of people were trying to close up a tag at the same time. I think that got fixed before Bush’s first run, IIRC; like 1999. Was definitely a source of amusement during the Impeachment.
Dude don’t even.
Oh, the Crevo threads were amazing donnybrooks, hundreds of FReepers just whaling away for thousands of replies. Creationists arguing with evolutionists, hence the name. To make it even more piquant, an evolutionist site called Darwin Central had a number of ringers signed up, if you kept two tabs open you could watch them strategizing, high fiving if they felt they’d “scored” a point, hooting in derision if they had no other reply, on and on. A lot of gruntles were dissed.
Where do you shake out on the matter btw, lol?
For that matter, where do you shake out on the eligibility clause? I refuse to use the pejorative “birther,” myself. I see no other choice but to believe that Obama actually is not eligible under Original Intent. I have no interest in playing Where’s Waldo over a piece of paper, it’s pointless imho.
Whether anything can let alone will be done about it, outside of his losing this election, is another matter entirely, though.
I’m good with that.
They used to let us carry pocketknives at the penitentiary, but no more.

You can right-click on the post number and Copy Link Location to the clipboard. You should get something like:

Nope, can't be done.
