Anecdote threads on FR are the best of the 'Net.
Living in a mail-only state, I feel robbed of the voting experience and must live vivaciously through others' anecdotes. I'd love to know your experiences, including:
No doubt you are a vivacious person....but I believe you mean "vicariously". :)
Personally, I distrust early and absentee voting. My perception is that while the polls may be on the up-and-up on election day because of poll watchers and the need for the workers to post the poll tabbed (machine totals from each machine) results shortly after closing (at least here in Georgia). I simply do not trust any elections board that has a potential Democrat working within. There is too much time to cheat.
The ballots arrived Friday in Oregon’s Fraud by Mail and sending it back today. Straight Republican ticket.
Pray for America
One women who had moved out of the county tried to vote, but she was turned away. TN does require a picture id to vote.
Other then that, there were no problems and everything went well. The poll workers were polite and competent.
Doh!!! Thanks :o)
Absolutely!
I was in line (third) at 7:40 am. Doors opened at 8. There were about 20 of us at that time. When the doors opened at 8, the guy behind me mused audibly, “I’ve been waiting four years for this!”.
A lot of us nodded in agreement.
I voted quickly, just simply straight ticket. Didn’t take any time at all.
As I left the polling place, I got choked up. That has never happened before. But there has never been an election like this before.
May God shower the USA with grace and mercy, and deliver us from obama.
Got mine on Friday. Dropped it off at an official dropoff box on Sunday with nary a soul around. It felt horribly anti-climatic & uncomfortable. A pox on OR and WA.
I vote on election day.
That is awesome!! :o)
I went directly to my township clerk and got an absentee ballot last Thursday. It was #28 (it is a small and pretty conservative township). This is on the west side of the state of Michigan.
I did absentee because I am a poll watcher again.
cripplecreek - I thought that election day voting would be more fun, but I thought if the Lord decided to take me home before election day voting, I would miss out on something I have looked forward to for four years. So, my wife and I went on and voted early.
Same here. It’s providing extra chances for fraud.
The easy way is seldom the right way.
Then lets just pre-vote for the rest of our lives to make it easy. Cast one vote for the party of your choice and you never have to vote again.
If Romney wins and the Senate goes GOP, one of the first agenda items should be ENDING the practice of 'early voting' and severely restricting the use of absentee ballots.
I’m cautiously pessimistic.
My wife and I voted two weeks ago because we’ll be traveling on election day. It was easy because we knew the county clerk who walked us through it, but it was on the other hand unnecessarily complex with phony conveyance of the sealed ballots. I didn’t see too many others voting and she said there hadn’t been any more than usual.
This is New Jersey so even though the county will go GOP, the state won’t unless there’s a miracle.
People in Chicago already do that...expect, they’re dead.
On October 15th, Colorado mailed out its mail-in ballots to those who have requested permanent mail-in ballots. They are sent out automatically, and represent more than half of registered voters.
I signed, sealed, and hand-delivered mine Friday, and for good measure checked online this morning and noted that my ballot has been officially “accepted” by Boulder County.
I did note on Friday that the ballot box was so full that I had a hard time stuffing my ballot in, and I made sure to push it down so it couldn’t be fished back out.
On the ground in the parts of Boulder County that I have traveled, including the City of Boulder, Romney signs outnumber Obama signs 20 to 1. I’ve seen only two Obama bumper stickers. Amongst the Democrat down-ticket sign forests that have sprouted on many yards, Obama signs ARE NOT INCLUDED! Clearly the Obama voters (however many they turn out to be) in Boulder County are not proud of their choice and do not wish for their neighbors to know that they are voting for Zero. A far cry from four years ago. I guess all the Hopium has been smoked up long ago, and the O-flavored Kool-Aid won’t stay down for very long any more.
Crossing fingers that your fellow neighbors stuffed the ballot box with Romney votes!
As I’ve mentioned before, Seattle is void of Obama signs. Have seen only 1 Obama sign to date. Inslee (a Democrat governor who might as well as be a stand-in for Obama) signs have curiously been on the decline.
