Alabama and Auburn on the same team on one point at least...
Maybe your football team all feel like you do and are throwing the games to give the trees a rest from the years of damaging toilet paper clean up.
:-)
I would gladly crawl through Tuscaloosa and even shout “Roll Tide” (until I HAD to bite my tongue) in order to vote out the Occupier-in-Chief on Nov. 6th.............WAR EAGLE!!!
Is that you, Harvey Updyke?
Buck Fama!
War damn Eagle.. Even though we suck this year..
GO DAWGS and War Eagle.
Roll Tide ! War Eagle !
(one daughter AU, one daughter UA).
I've got it worse. My son goes to Georgia.
That’s pretty much how I see it, what Florida is lacking is that Harvin-like player that defenses have to fear. But I’ve been impressed with Driskel’s progress this year, he looked pretty bad in the Bowling Green game, but stepped it up in College Station, and that was the turning point.
Not surprising. We are conservative in the South.
War Eagle!
My Dad went to Florida, my Mom to Florida State College for Women. They met as a blind date for Gator Growl. Brother went undergrad Florida, law school at FSU and teaches law seminars at Miami. One sister through Auburn; another sister with son at Alabama; third sister through FSU undergrad, law school and teaches law at FSU. Multiple nieces and nephews through Auburn and FSU.
At least we all hate Georgia.
I figure Mark Richt has to be the ultimate Gator-Hater....played QB at Miami, Assistant Coach at FSU, and Head Coach at Georgia, that’s pretty much the trifecta.
Roll Tide and Go State! (except when they’re playing Bama) I do occasionally cheer for Ole Miss, too, since my BFF and her fam are Rebels through and through. I wouldn’t trade my years at Bama for anything. It’s where I met and married my husband and where three of our children were born. Wonderful place. Wonderful people. Out here in Tucson, SEC fans tend to stick together.
I am amused how quickly this thread went from politics to football.... While disappointed, I love my Auburn Tigers -win, lose, or draw!! I think you picked the best time to be home (last year) for many reasons :)
Go Cocks.
(What? It’s not like the folks at South Carolina ever had anything much to celebrate until the Ol’ Ball Coach showed up, cut ‘em some slack.)

I must confess, I didn’t read the article. I guessed that it was support for Romney but my point is the transcendance of the rivalry. Remember the blood drives in the 60s and 70s? It was which school will demonstrate its patriotism and support of our fighting men by giving the most blood. Then, directly after the war, it was show which school has more compassion. But at the heart of it was GIVE MORE THAN THE BAMA STUDENTS!
Of course, the medicoes needed to be aware that blood from Tigers is either burnt orange or navy blue.
We may come together on this one point, but the war is still on.
You are right about the profs being liberal. My own parents, can you believe it, are yellow-dog democrats. Also, billy-bob gibson, of the o administration, grew up in The Village.
Your are also right about the time for being at home. If I had to be there, that was a good time to pick.
Ties? sure pal. Keep rooting. Go Vandy. 1-6. 1-6. And even Scam Newton is stinking up the NFL.
You seem angry. What precisely have I done to you that has you upset?
Angry? Who is angry? This is FOOTBALL. I was born and raised in Alabama. Alabama is all about football. From peewee to the major colleges. In fact I will watch a good high school game any day, even over college. The kids enjoy it more and it ain’t about getting into the NFL. If you are a barn fan, then you know this Alabama vs. Auburn hatefest! Otherwise, you are a pretender. Good grief, get a life.
Amen. C/) 89’ tide bites, we are right!
