"When I arrived in Sydney, I spent 22 weeks in this $50-a-week place with just a bed, a cupboard and the toilet halfway down the corridor. For the first time my parents were some distance away. I did a lot of thinking and realized I appreciated what my father had instilled in me. People think that because there is a dole there they should use it, and there are a lot of ways to misuse the system. I believe in singing for my supper. I'll never accept a grant because what I do should be able to be founded purely on free enterprise."
This is very disappointing to me, but I am not surprised. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Aside from all the great action sequences in that movie, the main themes of that movie are Maximus’ love of family and his desire to save Rome and return it to a republican form of government.
I saw another tweet from Crowe favorable to Obama about a month ago. So, this isn’t the first time I felt disappointment in him. But, I learned a long time ago, that “moonbattery” is endemic to the actor and musician world. I try to enjoy them as entertainers and forget their uninformed ramblings. If their ramblings are too offensive, I can always choose not patronize any of their movies or listen to any of their music.

Russel, you’re a pinhead.
I am beloved for the characters I portray, but those characters are not me. I may add to their sum total by my craft, but the characters remain the product of others. In my secret heart I know that I do not measure up to that image in real life, so I am desperate for your love and attention as myself, not the on-screen personae that make up the body of my work. (ref: Sally Fields). To earn your love and admiration, I must adopt causes and beliefs that I feel will endear me to you, the public. Liberalism is my choice since I am emoting and because it requires so little thought. As a bonus, no one will hold me to the outcomes but instead marvel at my "wisdom" in spouting what ends up being, yet again, someone else's lines. How ironic! and so destined to fail.
Just don’t get between him and a chicken kebob.

What does an actor do when they’ve put on 60 lbs, are no longer eye candy and on the downside of their career? We’ve seen it a thousand times - they become an outspoken lib agitator.
5.56mm
Those rich thepians and their problems...I tell ya they got it so rough.
Keep going towards the light.......
That’s what. I whisper in a patient’s ear who is at death’s door....
Gladiator is one of my favorites as well. I care more about the characters in the movies than the actors. Movies are made by hundreds of people, and I doubt they are all whacko libs.
We are the moths, Obama is the flame.
We should vet these movie stars before we give them our money.....oh wait. We didn’t even do that to Obama. Never mind.
Thanks TigerClaws.
Didn’t his wife just divorce him??? He’s probably a little light in the head.
On one of skateboarder Rob Dyrdek’s “Ridiculousness” shows, he states hussein is the greatest leader of all time or something along those lines.
Heh.
He’s a lot lighter in the wallet.
That’s gotta leave a mark.
Great actor, just conflicted and illogical to the core like most attracted to that occupation. The closet conservatives in Hollywood probably have the same feelings we do, but they keep quiet about it to stay employed.
