What is it? I have Winchester 101 12ga. I love that gun!
To: US_MilitaryRules
A Belgian made Browning superposed, field grade, in 12 ga. I inherited it from my father. It’s in better shape than the one pictured actually. Wish I had time to go out and break some clays.

The Superposed...John Browning was a genius.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Did he invent the over under?
No question about his genius.

He made the first mass production affordable one.

It was a shout out.. sorta... ;)
To: Tijeras_Slim
Thanks, I didn’t know that. It’s hard to imagine what firearms would be like today without his contributions.

Feh, I limited out on South Dakota pheasants this afternoon with a Mossberg 835. What do you need an expensive shotgun for?
Its a shotgun for crissakes. All you need is a hollow tube and a firing pin...
To: Last Dakotan
Because it pleases me, but yes it is just a shotgun.

Take a break with a 1942 Ithaca NID 16 Gauge Grade V. Yep, Ithaca made some mighty nice hardware.

Great assembly line .....M3...bumper.....M3 .......bumper......M3.......bumper..... Indeed, at the Anderson, Indiana plant.
They built something else there, a smoothbore like the shotguns under discussion here, though hardly in the same class. But they certainly had their uses, and were quite affordable.
Oh, just for fun:
