The New York Yankees' World Series hopes may have just taken a hit, as shortstop Derek Jeter fractured his left ankle in game one of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.
Jeter suffered the injury while fielding a ground ball in the top of the 12th inning, with New York trailing 5-4. He immediately went down in pain, staying face down momentarily.

That was an almost perfect game, not just a no-hitter. The ump that blew that call was almost in tears when he saw how badly he had screwed up.

It was Jim Joyce. In my opinion, both handled it with a great deal of class. Both became more famous than if the call had been correct.
Joyce made news again this season for performing CPR or some other life saving action on a woman in the front row of a game.

7 games in the ALCS. 2 in NY, 3 in Detroit, and 2 more in NY.

That's an interesting map, thanks for posting it. I have never seen that before.
Lifelong Indians fan. Jeter had a great season, hope he makes a full recovery.
