One of my cats, Whitey, is sick. Until last Friday, she's been very active and eating a lot until she became kind of skittish and aloof and cut back on her eating. She sleeps a lot and still drinks water but eats sporatically. I think it could be a hyperactive thyroid, I had a similar experience with another cat where she was put on meds and responded well and lived a few years afterward. My other guess is maybe bad teeth, but I point towards the former. I'm hoping it is that or at least something that is treatable. I'm just asking for prayers and well wishes as I take her to the vets tomorrow. She is 11 years old and one time when Obama came on the TV, she swatted at him and hissed. B-)
De nada.
I’m sure your kitty will be fine. There’s a reason why they are said to have 9 lives.
Nowhere Man...you bet we’ll all be praying for your kitty...
PLEASE let us know what the vet says tomorrow, OK?
Could be Cystitis. Kidney shut down. Cats susceptible to blocked ureters.
Saying prayers for your kitty. Please let everyone know how he does.
Oh, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have two myself (15 year old and a kitten). I hope it turns out to be something easy to fix.
Do not apologize. Our pets are our families and we pray for them too when they are ill ... same as our family members. I too will pray to St. Francis patron Saint of all creatures.... So, prayers up right now for your little friend. Hope all goes well.
God bless you and your friend. How much is your kitty drinking? Excessive consumption of water is a sign if kidney failure. It’s happened with two of my pals. If that is the case, don’t despair. A routine of subcutaneous fluid can keep your cat healthy and happy a long time. Your vet would explain that.
For anyone with this issue, be advised that Amazon sells products called “cat sack” or cat-grooming bag. With my first cat, it was nearly impossible to do the sub-Q fluids, because he was fractious. Same with the second. But once we bought the “cat sack,” things began going smoothly with our second cat. I thank God for this product. Cheer up, and remember to use Google and Youtube, great repositories of good info. Separate the wheat from the chaff.
A final tip, if I may: The doctors tried to put our cats on medicated diet, but it just didn’t appeal to them. They would have starved to death on that diet. Truth is, I’ve been feeding Fancy Feast galore (night and day), and both cats did well this way. (Gained weight.) Vets don’t like it, but it seems like just bias.
Prayers from this cat woman. :)=^..^=
I know how you feel. My 2 cats are my babies, too. I hope that Whitey has something which can be treated and return her to many more years of health. I know what she means to you. Been there, done that, got the (cat fur covered!) t-shirt .
My sincere prayers for your kitty. Let us know what the vet says.
Prayers up for Whitey.
Please read a private reply from me.
Prayers for kitty. Please let us know wht the vet says...
Kitty prayers up!
They ARE family, and as far as I’m concerned you have no need to apologize. I’m praying for the health and recovery of your furbaby.
As for her swatting and hissing at Obama.....LOL!! ANIMALS KNOW.
Great pic....both are adorable.
Please let us know what happens at the vet’s.
