Every person will face an ugly new reality when life as we know it vanishes. Its coming. Soon. It might be a slow crawl decline or a rapid descent into nightmarish conditions. Various scenarios now flit threateningly across the horizon. If were brave enough to peer into the abyss, we can see some of these events bordering on fruition. Most are unnerving; some will be paralyzing. Regardless of the fright factor, we must examine individually how to handle these looming crises. When they strike, people without a plan in place, will die.
So whats lurking about?

I just think that staying in your individual comfort zone is advantageous off the bat. You don’t have the psychology of being in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar faces around.
I know a lot of people think about heading south from northern states but the cold has plenty of advantages too. Number 1 is the fact that the urban rats will be the primary group heading south.
IMHO it depends on what happens. A complete collapse will mean very few people are moving. Once the highways are blocked in Florida people won’t be moving far or fast through Florida, too much swamp.
Mine is more bachelor apartment. Picked it up cheap last election.
It’s been a cheap place to live through the economic crisis, and it’ll be an escape shuttle if It has to be.
Am I the only one around here that cans meat ?

I do. Not so much lately because I have a suspicion my canner’s pressure guage is off, but I’ve canned lots of meats in the past.
Bingo. Cannot defend a boat very well.
As I have said before, you do not want to be anywhere near a large population area whose denizens are the type that rely on the government for food. When that EBT card is worthless, then the savagery will start soon after. And it will; think about how many times during this administration has the government threatened to shut down, basically suspending all those entitlements for who knows how long?
They will pick everything clean around them, which typically in the ghetto, is not much. Once that is gone, they will start to forage out.
Please keep this in mind. The government will survive, feeding it’s employees first, the rest of the population second or not at all. There will not be enough emergency rations to go around. I think everyone that reads Karts threads has food stored, but it is imperative to spread the word about storing food like you were on a mission to save souls.
The people who do not prep do not realize that there are many who will not share with them and indeed consider them expendable.
I don't think that it will be THE END but I expect things to get nasty for at least a few months.
Then things will calm down but everything will be a bit worse and less stable.
I expect this cycle to repeat a few times before the final downfall.
Then again it would not be the first time I was wrong.
Please add me to the Preppers ping list. Thanks.
Got my mom started.
“you do not want to be anywhere near a large population area whose denizens are the type that rely on the government for food”
IMO thats a poor assumption. Based on my experiences and those around me during hurricanes there will be a general loss of control whenever the law breaks down.
Started last May. Have to admit that I cover just about everything in condensed cream soup and egg noodles. Save my scratch meals for when I can plan ahead.
You already know about me = whatever happens, I move my car from in front of my house, lock the door, and don’t come out until everything is peachy again.
>>When that EBT card is worthless, then the savagery will start soon after<<
Won’t just be there - you’ll find the same savagery in the suburbs when Dolly and Chip can’t use the credit cards and their spoiled brats are screaming in the checkout lane.
All over the country - the veil of civility is incredibly thin.
Ask your county extension agent to check it for you. They'll do it for free.
Not much of an escape path either.
