Not just wasteful, but your fingers get sticky if you hold the edible part instead of the peel when eating it.

Obama would ask : Couldn’t they have just put peeling instructions in Austrian on the bananas?

There is a neat culinary trick where you can pre-slice a banana without taking the peel off. My kids always loved that.

I dont recall reading about this sign in the Bible :)
“And lo, the minions of the wicked one waived about their uncovered bananas for all to see and there was much shrieking and unrest.”
Bear in mind, I’m posting from memory.

Exactly. Most have ends cut off, meaning they were starting to go bad. If customers had taken them home, peel on, in that condition, they probably would have been unhappy with their purchase. By peeling and trimming them and packaging them so the customers can see their condition, the store may be at least saving some waste from unsold bananas.

I didn't read the article but there must be some value to banana peels and that's why the supplier is stealing them from the consumer. Oh, here's one!:

And they will spoil even faster packaged like that. Packaging is one of my big pet peeves.
