I don’t particularly care for the new GUI and haven’t dug into any new features yet. I really like win7 but we’ll see what the market thinks I guess. :-)
As soon as the computers get fast enough to be impressive, Windows coems out with a new OD that bogs it down with gigabytes of useless, obsolete, and unused code.
As a side note Microsoft released their patch for IE8.
Will it be possible to have a multi-boot setup (e.g. Win-8/Ubuntu Linux) or does the new secure boot bios system rule that out?
Trying to bolt a touchscreen tablet interface onto a keyboard-and-mouse desktop is like replacing a car’s steering wheel and pedals with a video game controller or replacing all the electrical switches in your house with one master console with a menu levels for each room and each device within the room. It’s just stupid.
Touchscreen input on laptops and desktops is not ergonomically sound. It’s okay for limited use, but a bad idea for prolonged input. It works better on tablets because you have a lot more control over angle of input.
