“How come the debt problem wasn’t a problem before Obama?” Bill Maher asked on his HBO program “Real Time” this Friday. “It was not mentioned by anyone on the right. Bush never paid for anything.”
“Isn’t it also true that when Bush was president he didn’t pay for anything and that was okay because he was white? He had good credit. Suddenly when President Blackenstein gets in office, he has no credit at all. He’s got to pay everything with cash,” Maher said.
“It’s not because he’s black. It’s not that you’re black, we just don’t know you,” Maher joked.
“Well it was on the table with the grownups and the Tea Party wouldn’t let the grownups do it. It was on the table. Obama and John Boehner wanted a deal and the screaming babies with the tea shit hanging in their heads said no. That’s what happened,” Maher said about a proposed debt deal between Obama and Boehner.

Recall the old warning that he who controls the meaning of words controls the outcome of a debate. This was never more true than in the current discourse about being black in America.
When Nobel Prize winning poet Tony Morrison, who is African-American, can write an October 1988 New Yorker article titled “Clinton as the first black president”, then what is “black”? When the NAACP calls the black conservative Kenneth Gladney, “not black enough”, and “not a brother” then what is “black”? When Time magazine’s Jack White calls Supreme Court Justice Thomas, “the scariest of all the hobgoblins”, saying “Washington seems to be filled with white men who make black people uneasy”, than what is “black”? And when Obama, a man whose mother is Caucasian, and whose father was 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab, can tell us his autobiography that in his youth he struggled with his racial identity before *deciding* to be black, what is “black”?
When Bill Maher, during a panel discussion on HBO complains that Obama’s policies are “half-assed” “because he’s only half black.” and that “if he was fully black, I’m telling you, he would be a better president.”, and that “there’s a white man in him holding him back”, than what is “black”?
“Black” in all these contexts, as well as Juan Williams’s complaint on Fox News that the extraordinarily lopsided expression of Missouri voter sentiment in August of 2010 rejecting ObamaCare (in one county by 92%) was really about race, is not about “race” at all. It is about ideology, socialist ideology.
And demanding that one group of citizens fund perpetual “benefits” for another citizens, is just socialism, plain and simple. Anyone who is familiar with the Ten Commandments should be able to see this as the coveting it is.
With respect to BHO being black: it is not about the racial characteristics he was born with, it is about the ideology he adopted. It is not what percent black he is, it is about how thoroughly red he is.
(And I might add, Maher seems to be wanting it both ways or else he is counting on those who give weight to his opinion have short memories.)

For example, There’s a large gray area between what is legal and what is not . I wish you were right but it seems to me that the race card just keeps getting stronger. It will bail you out every time if you are Obama.
The media build up the Black race every single chance they get. They even make places where they can place Blacks to show just how much better they are than any other group and also to show just how evil the White people are.
I see it every single day if I watch TV and often many times a day. It is entirely impossible to escape it. At times it seems the only reason for shows to exist is to show how much superior Blacks are to everyone else.
Right now I am watching a rerun of Smallville. It is not a particularly slanted show as far as liberal policies tho it is still slanted.
The one they they are overboard is with people in high positions or positions of trust.. When I lived in Kansas it was only 2% Black, yet I would guess at least 60% of all scientists, doctors, judges, police chiefs etc. are Black or often Black and female.
Anytime a freeper would mention Bush’s defiicits and huge over spending they were called trolls from DU. This was before the dem congress was sworn in before 2007 too. Either the budget busting measure were excused as pragmatic strategy maneuvers or excused for nation building in the Middle-East, go-go-go big spending Republicans I guess :-(
