Got out for a while, low tide, birds should have been in the saltmarsh but weren't.
I found an Anhinga so stuffed with fish it couldn't swallow the last one, watched an Osprey catch a fish and carry it to a light pole, and then I found a democrat rally going on at the Publix dumpster enclosure.

LOLOLOL! That bird in the first one reminds me of my daughter’s Poodle who has “megaesophagus” and has to be hand fed kibble bit, by kibble bit, or he throws it all up!

Anhingas don’t usually gorge like that. Now it’s got to sit there and wait for more room in it’s stomach.

Bang on the osprey. Had the g-kids over at the fishing pond.
The only one catching fish was that bird.
I loved that.
Mebbe in a couple of years those babies will too.

Great osprey photo! Seems like the ones I always get are of their rear ends when they’re bent over devouring their fish :-)

You, sir, defame the turkey vulture with your slurs!
Beautiful photos.

That beak is a lethal weapon. They go through the water like a torpedo.

Those are Black Vultures, Turkey Vultures have red heads. Many years ago a was swooped by two California Condors while walking on a trail in Marin county. Biggest birds, by far, I've ever seen. I thought they were turkey vultures, but they only flapped once each and soared at high speed across a valley right at me, and just got bigger and bigger and bigger. The wing flap sounded like a bedsheet being shook out, and the soaring was absolutely silent. I just stared at them in amazement. They passed right over my head about 50 feet up, and kept on going.
Much later I was told there were no Condors in Northern California, which I'm fine with, as long as someone can show me something else with an eight foot wingspan. Maybe they were pterosaurs - hey, it was Marin.
