CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The young Texas mayor whose keynote speech wowed the Democratic National Convention crowd Wednesday night draws political inspiration from his mother – who is a member of a radical civil rights movement and who reportedly thinks the truth behind the Battle of the Alamo is that Texans swiped Mexico’s land.
Maria del Rosario Castro, the mother of San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, said in 2010 that she grew up being told the battle was “glorious,” only to learn the so-called heroes were really “a bunch of drunks and crooks and slaveholding imperialists who conquered land that didn’t belong to them.”
“But as a little girl I got the message -- we were losers,” she told New York Times Magazine. “I can truly say that I hate that place and everything it stands for.”

Makes you wonder what the reaction would have been if the United States had claimed vast regions of the Moon as U. S. Territory, just like Spain did in what is now the Western United States.
Two things are incredibly crystal clear. Hardly any Mexican nationals know their own history, and an inordinately large segment of U. S. Citizens suffer the same knowledge deficit.

A friend of mine says that this young mayor didn’t grow up very hard. He went to the best high school in town and came from the best part of town. He sounds like another made up hero very similar to Barack Obackslash.

The Texans & Tennesseans & Kentuckians who fought and died at the Alamo liked their whiskey. We need to find out what brand it was.
As for Mayor Castro’s mamacita, he must be facepalming bigtime.

This silly cow also does not acknowledge the Hispanic heroes of the Texas Revoltion (of which there were many). There are streets, roads, and towns named after heroes of the Texas Revolution who had Spanish surnames. Maria is a stupid, race-baiting grievance pimpette.
