He's been trying to rid the universe of Daleks since the beginning of time. But as he still hasnt had any luck, Doctor Whos creators have decided it may be time to let a Doctor Her have a crack. The boss of the BBC series has conceded that it is more and more likely that fans will get to see the first ever Time Lady.

same.
PC b.s. turns me off and i avoid it like the plague
now that is a really stupid comment.. why would you stop watching if they have a female Time Lord?
ping
Yeah, what if she’s cute?
There is only one Doctor Who and his name is Tom Baker.
Yep. Tom Baker IS the Doctor. All others pale in comparison.
Ive been wondering about this kind of twist for some time. It might be interesting.
I think it would be a cool twist. They have already hinted that it has happened before in several seasons. They also have an open storyline out there with the Dr.’s clone/daughter who is a Time Lord.
Doctor Whim.
They had a female time lord in the Tom Baker era, Romana, so nothing new about a time lady. It does seem to screw with the character too much for my taste to have him go transsexual with regeneration. Not that it matters as I was turned off already by the other pervert crap like the queer assistant who was hitting on The Doctor and Rose at the in succession. I will keep watching my campy 60s-80s era Doctor Who.
Jon pertwee is my Doctor. They’ve threatened this every time since then but in these PC days it may happen. i wouldn’t watch it if they made that change.
Not everything in this world is done to be “PC”. Good grief. Are there PC monsters hiding under your bed?
Well, the idea that it COULD happen was established last season in the episode “The Doctor’s Wife”. Eleven mentioned another Time Lord, “The Corsair”, who had a female regeneration. And of course, there was Romana, and the unnamed Time Lady from the fourth season.
But just because it COULD happen doesn’t mean it SHOULD. If DW decides to go all Torchwood on us, it’ll mean the decline of the show. Russell T. Davies deserves credit for bringing back the series, but the subtle LGBT nudges got a little ridiculous by the fourth season.
With Steve Moffat at the helm, the scripts and characters have improved, especially the team of Moffat and Gatiss who have collaborated on other projects (ie. “Sherlock”).
If Eleven regenerates as a woman, I’ll see how the scripts pan out. If the writing team keeps to the standards we’ve seen in the past, DW is a keeper. But if they follow Torchwood’s path, then I’m gone.
What’s the matter with you - don’t you know a penis is required for time travel? After all, it’s Bill & Ted, not Jill & [some female name ending in ‘ed’], nor is it Michelle J. Fox. LEARN YOUR FICTION PHYSICS!!
I agree. I have enough difficulty adjusting each time the Dr regenerates. I loved the chemistry between Christopher Eccelston and Billie Piper then David Tennant took over and his relationship with “Rose” didn’t work for me. Let’s just hope they don’t bring in a Dr with a love interest like say Capt Jack Harkness.
LOL
Yes Torchwood went off the deep end and I had to stop watching it. The other thing I’ve noticed is their fascination with killing off children.
How many lives does the Doctor have left? Isn’t Matt Smith the eleventh?
Remember the episode with the Doctor’s daughter? David Tennant was the Doctor, but I don’t recall the season. Wasn’t she technically a Time Lord/Lady? I wondered if she might reappear at some time.
Matt Smith took a while to get used to, but he is turning into a decent Doctor Who.
After Tennant decided to quit, there were rumors that his replacement might be a female. That was probably a trial balloon.
A female Doctor Who might work, but it might also be a way to destroy the Doctor Who franchise. Other franchises have found ways to destroy themselves.
