Surgery, chemo and marrow transplants did nothing and he was dying at Sloan in New York. About two weeks before he died he was dozing in a hospital bed; his mother was reading and in walked Paul McCartney. He stayed and talked and played his Taylor guitar for about 45 minutes or an hour.
