BCK, 4717 Woodward, made an arrangement with the school district to give away a free pair of black leather Nikes to every student who comes to class on Oct. 3, the day when students are counted and their numbers used as the basis for per-pupil funding from the state and federal government.
The more bodies in class, the more money schools have all year.

Its not just Detroit, public schools across the country (and the cities they’re in) are zombies in various states of decay.
Nikes aside, Oct. 3 is their first day of school? That’s six weeks after we start. It’s no wonder they have nothing better to do than drive by shootings and dealing.
Three words: National Education Association.
Rumor has it that one of those words does not fit when in combination with the other two.

No, that's just the day the Detroit schools make an official count of attending students to get state and federal education money.
It would make far more sense to have multiple days or even average over the entire year, but good sense and the Department of Education are polar opposites.
And THAT is the only reason they want them there. Gotta have the largesse ever increasing for the teachers unions, parties, and whatever bullsh!t they can spend it on.
Everything EXCEPT what it is supposed to be for.

And for those kids that actually WANT to learn, will find that the disruptive kids that don’t want to learn are now being bribed into coming into their classroom.
Anyone with the means and or time to send their kids/grand kids to a private school or home school but instead allows them into the public school brainwashing system is contributing to the destruction of the country.
The communist teacher’s union is doing the work required in the communist manifesto and the more minds we give them the faster the complete fundamental change of the USA to a Marxist communist country will be achieved.
I certainly know not everyone has the means or time and there is not a lot that can be done about that other than charter schools but if you have the means and or time don’t contribute to the problem.

Recently finished reading the Lincoln-Douglas debates.
This was farmers and workers standing around, often in hot summer sun, listening to two guys talk for a total of 3 hours, without benefit of a PA system.
Their discussions are so far beyond any political discussion of today that it is astonishing.
