Once again the ticket is upside-down as the GOP-e throws us a bone with a true blue Conservative running second under the thumb of a liberal RINO. McLame formula again.
Is this the template for the next 20 GOP-e nominees? Run a turd and coat it in sugar? I hate the GOP-e. I hate them all the more because they know I have to hold my nose this year and vote ABO, which painfully is Romney this year. Puke.
Is every presidential election from now on going to pit a Dem communist against a GOP librul with a tea party underling.
The GOP-e sold us out long ago. They were never our friend. Not Daddy Bush, not Baby Bush and not Romney. No clue how Reagan squeaked by the machine.
Yes, I will idiot librul Romney into office to get rid of the Soros hand-picked, anti-American radical communist Muslim foreigner currently occupying the White House and his tyrannical wife, because we can't survive another 4 years of them and Jarrett and Axelrod, et. al., but the fix is clearly in that the GOP is not about restoring our lost liberty.
The commie Dems want us oppressed, but the GOP-e just wants house slaves to feed their labor and tax machines. Conservatives have no representation. Puke.
No, Ryan does not make voting for Romney more palatable any more than Palin did for McLame. Both tickets were upside down and both tickets tell you everything you need to know about the GOP-e.
I'm disgusted.
Feel better now?
Nothing prevented Ryan from running for the nomination except Ryan. Though I did not vote for Romney he got the most votes. Such is life.
I feel better about supporting the Romney candidacy now that Ryan is the pick. I was already planning to support him anyway though.
The problem is the RATs will demagogue the Medicare issue into the ground and Ryan will cost Romney far more votes than he wins him.
As much as I personally love Paul Ryan, I think this race just went from a slight Obama advantage to an overwhelming one. Romney will now likely lose at least as badly as McCain did — maybe worse.
No. More disgusted.
Romney did not “just” get the most votes. He was hand-picked by the GOP establishment, who then went on to destroy his competitors while supporting him. They went after Cain and Bachmann, and then made sure that nobody could even oppose him in Virginia. Only he and Ron Paul made the Virginia ballot.
This was no fair contest that Romney won out of popularity with the people. He had no traction early. None. He won a war of attrition because the GOP establishment that hand-picked him then threw their full support behind him while trashing his opponents.
Bingo. Anyone could have run. There were lots of Tea Party types that could have thrown their hat into the right. They didn't. Ryan is a good choice for Romney. I wish it were Ryan at the top of the ticket, but he chose not to run in the primaries for the job.
For crying out loud.
The only ticket which would have been better than this, would have been Romney / Palin.
Quit whining, the deal is done.
Run next time, if you will.
Except next time you’ll have competition.
And I am (not) saying Romney. :D
Who did you want on the ticket?
I ask that not as a jibe, but genuinely wondering.
I think Romney is a damn poor candidate. But I didn’t see anybody else out there taking the electorate by storm, either among those running or those not.
What Romney/Ryan need to do is talk extensively about Obamacare letting seniors & terminal pts just expire due to costs.
Sort of reminds me of Hitler.
Grow up. Or not. I don’t care much either way.
That is why they put sugar on a turd — to let you pretend it is a candy bar.
I will still vote Romney as we must unseat the radical communist Muslim anti-American in the White House, but I am still not going to like doing so.
I maintain that Romney is a lock to win election. Paul helps his chances IMHO, but either way, Obama is toast. The economy doomed him. No president could win re-election with this economy shackled to his leg, despite the entire MSM propaganda effort to run interference for him.
Obama is a one-term wonder. I predicted that back before his inauguration and I stand on my prediction. Obama is toast.
Excuse me, but WE did this. I believe there was a little thing called the primaries.
We had more than half a dozen good, conservative candidates and we ate our own.
We voted (or didn’t vote) and we got what we deserved.
Search: republican primaries voter turnout
Our turnout was dismal and inexcusable. It was the same in 2008.
Now Romney has given us a good, solid conservative as his running mate and, if things go well, a future presidential candidate. If Romney does manage to turn this economy around, he’ll get a second term then Ryan will be the heir apparent 8 years from now.
IMHO, the GOP did *US* a favor and gave us a shot at a really good guy for the long run. They undid OUR mistake.
We live in a Republic. We get the government we deserve.
Much like Dems in '08. Difference being the Dems had enouogh sense to get behind their guy like it or not.
You know you can say the same thing about the Dem ticket in 2008
Biden is a tried and true libtard of the first degree, nationally known...Obama was am almost unknown...
And continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different outcome is pretty damn stupid.
I like Ryan a lot but I don’t expect a huge long lasting bump for Romney out of it.
The bottom of the ticket is irrelevant except in delivering votes to help the party win election, and that doesn’t matter this election because Obama will lose due to the large ABO vote (not here from Freepers, but in the heartland where masses of people either aren’t working, are holding pink slips, are holding their wives pink slipd, have working age unemployed kids living with them, or are hanging on to their small business by a fingernail because they can’t get a small business loan beg, borrow or steal.
Obama is doomed by his handling of the economic depression. It doesn’t matter who Romney puts on the bottom of the ticket.
If you are asking what ticket I wanted besides Romney, then a Palin/Ryan ticket would have just thrilled me.
I do...
I think Romney was suffering from “too much Romney all the time” and someone recognized it was important to share the lights with someone genuinely likable.
Ryan is strong, and likable. He could win this for Romney.
I think the bump will depend on how they play it. If they put the word out that Ryan will be an active part of the Administration and not another Biden, it could help. The biggest issue is the economy and that’s Ryan’s turf.
