Our cat Leopold had to be put to sleep. He had a severe bladder problem that couldn't be taken care of. It's a major problem for male cats.
Does anyone here have any ideas on how to cope with such a loss? I'm so heartbroken.
I’m sure this counts as a vanity.
Things will get better with time. Try to remain busy. Sorry to hear about your kitty. :(
Also,he was only 4 and healthy until a few days ago.
Not much to say, other than Leopold will now be much more comfortable and will remember your kindness, for eternity.
It hurts so much.
He had blood in his urine and was in a lot of pain.
It makes my heart ache knowing that.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I know what it’s like to lose a cat. They become one of your dearest family members. Time is the only answer I can offer. We always have/had two cats at a time and it helps to have another pet around to love.
Take care.
from past experience, replace him immediately....your heart will go right out to a new KITTEN and he/she will soon be as close as Leopold was!!
I had to put down my cocker spaniel it was one of the most difficult things to do. I cried let time pass, now I have a handsome pomeranian my son brought home that someone couldn’t keep.
A cute kitten works wonders.
He would sleep next to my head,LOL.
He was 15 pounds and hard to move.
I am so sorry about your loss. My cat Lucky had to be put to sleep for the same problem.
Very sorry. Been there too many times and I understand your pain. It will take some time. Remember the good stuff.

I have lost beloved cats, grieved them, and remember them with love. What kept me going was then investing my emotions in a new kitten. I hope you find comfort in your own way.
Get another cat. They’re cheap and easy to come by. My big black cat is getting old, and I know I’ll miss him when he eventually kicks off. But you just have to face the fact that cats only live for about 15 years.
Frankly, there is no way to cope. You must soldier on. Go to a shelter and adopt another. Show the same love, always.
We have another cat, whose name is Pumpkin. He’s a tabby.
We thought we were going to lose him too at one point.
He’s very affectionate.
We’ve had many cats who developed serious health problems and eventually had to be put down. Just cry your eyes out and let your heart ache. It’s the best thing you can do.
In time, the hurt will lessen and you’ll remember only the wonderful times you had with your pet.
Pumpkin will surely grieve the loss of his pal. He may very well (after an interval of time) welcome a new playmate. Just make sure to make the introduction carefully so that Pumpkin doesn’t feel he’s being replaced.
If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain should wake me from my sleep, Then you must do what must be done, For this last battle can’t be won.
You will be sad, I’ll understand, But don’t let your grief then stay your hand, For this day more than all the rest, Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years, What is to come will hold no fears, You wouldn’t want me to suffer, so, When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they’ll tend, Only stay with me, until the end And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree It is a kindness you do to me Although my tail its last has waved From pain and suffering I’ve been saved.
Don’t grieve that it must be you Who has to decide this thing to do, We’ve been so close - we two - these years, Don’t let your heart hold any tears.
