Get another cat. They’re cheap and easy to come by. My big black cat is getting old, and I know I’ll miss him when he eventually kicks off. But you just have to face the fact that cats only live for about 15 years.

We had one die a few years ago. He was 24. He got to the point of having almost daily heart attacks.
It was traumatic when we had to put him down.
Our other cat who died a year later was 19. He’d swallowed a pine cone whole and it messed up his insides.
We currently have 2 cats. Both were adult shelter cats. We figured kittens are easy to adopt out for the shelter, but not the older ones.
We adopted him from a woman at Petco.
I didn’t know they had animals for adoption there.
Mocha was my oldest cat...she had 3 legs and lived to be 25. Missie was a Tonk and she was 18 when she died of cancer in the neck.
Taco was my long haired orange tabby and he was 20 and one week when he went to the Rainbow Bridge of old age..
My kitties are all indoors due to the nature of the area and dangers to them where we live..coyotes, skunks and so on...They can live a long long time....

You didn’t read everything, the cat was only 4.
