10 signs for spotting a sociopath

10 signs for spotting a sociopath #1) Sociopaths are charming. Sociopaths have high charisma and tend to attract a following just because people want to be around them. They have a "glow" about them that attracts people who typically seek guidance or direction.

#2) Sociopaths are more spontaneous and intense than other people. They tend to do bizarre, sometimes erratic things that most regular people wouldn't do. They are unbound by normal social contracts. Their behavior often seems irrational or extremely risky.

#3) Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame, guilt or remorse. Their brains simply lack the circuitry to process such emotions. This allows them to betray people, threaten people or harm people without giving it a second thought.

#4) Sociopaths invent outrageous lies about their experiences. They wildly exaggerate things to the point of absurdity, but when they describe it to you in a storytelling format, for some reason it sounds believable at the time.

#5) Sociopaths seek to dominate others and "win" at all costs. They hate to lose any argument or fight and will viciously defend their web of lies, even to the point of logical absurdity.

#6) Sociopaths tend to be highly intelligent, but they use their brainpower to deceive others rather than empower them. Their high IQs often makes them dangerous.

#7) Sociopaths are incapable of love and are entirely self-serving. They may feign love or compassion in order to get what they want, but they don't actually FEEL love in the way that you or I do.

#8) Sociopaths speak poetically. They are master wordsmiths, able to deliver a running "stream of consciousness" monologue that is both intriguing and hypnotic. #9) Sociopaths never apologize. They are never wrong. They never feel guilt. They can never apologize.

Withholds birth certificate.

Fakes birth certificate and releases it through an “independent” online site wholly owned by the sociopath.

Fakes another birth certificate, acts like no other fake had previously been released.

...

Thanks jyro.

Sociopaths are not necessarily intelligent. Prisons are full of stupid sociopaths with no consciences who kill and torture people and animals.

The guy would've knocked the corporate world dead, just brilliant, very persuasive, very personable. But, no, he prefers whatever it is that he's doing.

The thing that's amazing about a con artist is that he puts a lot of work into it and could do very well in a legitimate endeavor...but something in his nutty personality actually makes him enjoy the thought that what he's doing is wrong, illegal, immoral and fraudulent, and I think it even makes him enjoy the risk of getting caught. We're talking crazy, after all; functional, but crazy.

Someone who was editor of Harvard Law review should NOT be so illiterate.

Agreed. But since he seems to have gotten to Harvard without superior grades and even without any educational records at all, I guess that's not surprising.

He is not a smart man and has always been moved ahead by powerful people behind him. However, he's nuts and really believes that he's special and he's done it all on his own, and I think it's gone to his head and he's beginning to turn on some of his backers.

The problem is that a sociopath can be very dangerous when anything gets in the way of his version of reality or his perception of himself, and I think Obama will be even worse in his second term.

I think you are confusing sociopaths with your general run of the mill animal.

He wasn't actually an editor. He was the President of the Law Review. I don't know if there actually is one editor. There's an editorial board. The presidency seems to be a political office, mediating between various groups and factions, but not actually responsible for editing or for the actual content. It's a little fuzzy, but it seems like the president of the review needed political or interpersonal skills more than raw intellectual power.

Being a "sociopath" or a "pathological narcissist" isn't just a matter of having certain traits that many people in the population have. You have to cross a certain line. A surprising number of successful people are charming, shallow, manipulative, conceited, but not incapable of shame or remorse, or absolutely incapable of empathy, or unable to distinguish truth from fantasy, so they aren't quite "sociopaths" or "pathological narcissists."

He's the best con artist I've ever encountered, he's scary good at it, even fleeced me but I still like the guy, lol. How crazy is that?

I'd never been all that trusting, especially regarding money. He didn't get me for all that much. A few airline tickets via frequent flyer miles and $600.00, which was a lot to me at the time. It was then that I finally saw what he was. The rationalizing, he'd pop up with a new leather coat, things like that, still owing me. "I didn't spend your money on this, your money went for business expenses just like I told you, and you'll be repaid many times over for your kindness and for having faith in me," he said.

I came close to beaning him on the head with a telephone, and did get my money back. I don't know of anyone else who has. I've seen the crazy and the vindictiveness, but never directed at me. To the people I tried to warn away, it was explained away as "sour grapes," I was just being childish over a small loss.

When it was all said and done, I didn't really cause him any problem at all. So, we're still "friends" and I do socialize with him and his longtime girlfriend on odd occasion, whenever they're having some event or get together. I think he thinks I lend him credibility, lol.

He's going to cross paths with someone just like himself one of these days, and I'm not at all certain whether it'll be twice the trouble or they'll end up killing each other. He's beyond my ability to reach. But, again, very pleasant, great company, fantastic storyteller, the best of everything, their parties lack nothing and are very enjoyable.

Hey Obummer has a “typical white mom from Kansas?” If you can call Dunham typical—or white? It ‘sracist to call somebody black when they have as much white blood in them as Obummer has- I hear even Myshell his belle has a white guy in the gin shed somewhere.

The command comes from the Lord of heaven and earth, and is issued to everyone. (Following a false religion is no excuse for disobeying.)

Yeah. What?

Don’t cite antisocial when we are talking socio.

Since socio is interchangeable with psycho.

And those “feel good” people only use the pre socio. You know, not to upset anyone.

This thread has all the earmarks of drawing people to the conclusion Obama is a sociopath.

But that lame POS can’t/won’t/doesn’t come even close.

He is just a lame POS.

Hubby has a saying about that, he calls people like that “coyote smart” they are not necessarily IQ smart. It was odd, my sociopath son in law could score really high on nearly any written test but to talk to him you would not guess he was very intelligent. He was coyote smart though.

He is not a smart man

Understatement. He can't spell the word Syracuse. He can't pronounce the word corpsman. His grammar is poor. And he doesn't hold his wine glass correctly. Harvard, at least, should have taught him how to hold his wine glass.

Your daughter was married to my former son in law - so sorry.
(However, with my daughter they created three fantastic kids.....there is nothing in them of him - Thank you Jesus.
Well except their coloring, but they are so stink’n cute it doesn’t matter)
