For any societal collapse or near collapse, get out of the cities. Now, right now, find some property within 50 miles with a stream or well and store some food and shelter there. Keep a really really really low profile; if possible no one should be able to detect that you are even there. Plan on no electricity. No fires, they can be seen. Have and know how to use some semi automatic weapons. Plan on a few months until law and order restored, but worst case it could be year of horror out there if the grid goes down and doesn’t come back up. The most dangerous animal in the world is a starving human.
Better to have no confrontations by staying completely out of sight than to have to live with their deaths on your hands and having to bury your loved ones.
Rice sealed in 5 mil Mylar with 02 absorber and buried in 55 gallon drums will keep 25 years or more. Just do it, do it now.
Buy and learn how to use snares, they hunt silently 24/7.
