Hi all! I just joined today. I was perusing through this great site and thought to myself that this site is the perfect fit for me! You all hold the same conservative values that I do!

BTW, though hardly an authority on Islam, I have studied it for 3 years and know quite a lot about it and I've come to the conclusion that though there are "Moderate Muslims" there is NO such thing as "Moderate Islam."

There is room for you.
But keep in mind that the order of words by which you identify yourself is important. Conservative - first. Republican - a brand name. Muslim - your beliefs.
If your muslim faith is a personal one, and does not extend to the political arena (such as Sharia law substituting for American law), you will do fine. If your beliefs bring you to condemn natural American concepts, you will have a hard time.

Also - remember that factual debate is the key to respect here. Emotional debate, and certainly name calling, will earn you ridicule.

Pure Karma, I will treat you with respect but you will have to be able to articulate why you believe/think the way you do.
If there are any other muslims on this board, I think they keep quiet about it. Due to their behavior in the USA and around the world, as a group, they are not respected. Most on this board may believe than an individual muslim here or there may not be a threat. But we would sure like to see a prominent muslim or two stand up and deplore the violence here and overseas that is done for jihad purposes.
We are just not seeing it.
Anyone can do evil and say they do it for a cause - jihadis for Islam, an white person for the Klan, a black man for the African nation, a so-called Christian like Phelps against the military; an illegal Mexican for La Raza.
What is the difference? Prominent white people stand up for other races, to the point of blood; prominent black people deplore thug culture; prominent Christians seriously support the military up to and including on the battlefield; legal Mexican immigrants push for the borders to be enforced. So we understand that a few “in name only” representatives of various groups don’t actually represent those groups.
But where are the prominent Muslims campaigning for the defense of Christians in Nigeria, fighting against freedom of speech violations in Michigan, pushing for the prosecution of jihadi terrorists in the military, etc? We don’t see or hear from them. That is the problem.
You say you have conservative opinions. What are they?
