My primary carry piece is a Sig P239 DAK SAS in 9mm. It's about the largest weapon I can carry concealed in warm weather. The mag holds 8 w/1 in the pipe.
You?
Sucks to be me, eh?
I carry my glock 26 9mm when I leave my house—for business, errands, etc.... I carry because I will not be an easy victim.
A gun.
I used to carry a P239 in 9mm but found that the Springfield Armory Ultra Compact (Officers Model, 3 1/2” barrel) is nearly identical in size, holds 7+1 .45ACP 180 grain +P at 1050 fps on my Pact chrono. It barely exceeds 1” thick with the slim carry grips, conceals beautifully and has that wonderful, crisp single action trigger.
I don’t leave home without it. Texas tradition.
Hi-Point C9 9mm. Heavy and bulky, but VERY inexpensive and a lifetime, transferable guarantee.
I conceal and carry a non-descript brown wallet with a credit card and a few twenties. I only pull it out when I have to pay my tab or someone challenges me to “show some ID”. Otherwise, I keep it out of view.
I carry a 38 special ... was my old secondary weapon form my days as a police officer. Not as fancy nor does it carry the impact of modern weapons, but it will scare the crap out of any would be predators. Easy to hide and makes a hell of a lot of noise. Amo is cheap and can be bought anywhere.
S&W 642 revolver (38cal/16 oz) with no safety in even my small Sunday go to meetin’ purse, and my S&W 40 semi under the floor mat.
Kahr 9mm 6+1
We carry .357’s in our Out n’ About’s I carry a Ruger SP101 .357 and the Little Lady carries a S & W 686 2 1/2 inch .357.
According Abood the average gun fight lasts 3 second’s and it is at 7 feet. So no need for the 18 - 19 shooters.
Very close to the Glock model 21 but I liked it better.
Compact with stopping power. Why mess around?
I carry a S & W 38 special. The type of that was used by the shore patrol and coast guard during WWII. It is big enough to be used as a black jack.
We’re not blessed to be able to carry around here, but my sister had a nice strategy to keep the scumbags away when she had to take the train through the ghetto once a week to get to Civil Air Patrol meetings. She’d sit on the train reading “Guns & Ammo” and “Soldier of Fortune”, making sure all the little punks could see what she was reading. They never tried to lay a finger on her :)
I have a RAAMI myself, but have never carred it as a CC. I always thought it would be a good CC because it is compact.
It looks sharp with the wood grips!
AMEN!
Springfield XD-40 sub compact.
Civil Air Patrol still exists? Who knew.
