Thought destroyed but now found. It's not had the greatest care over the years and this group in Hollywood who are the acstual folks that have worked on the shows over the years is trying to raise funds and bid on an auction, restore and display properly the original full size Galileo shuttlecraft from the original Star Trek series. It's important TV history to preserve considering the impact Star Trek has had on society, inspiring even people to become astronauts.
Please throw in a few bucks for this, and watch the video at the fund raising site...

We are Trekkies, but we are also FReepers at a loss as to why we should donate to the restoration of a Sci-Fi fantasy such as this request, but not to the reality that is FreeRepublic.com for new servers.

I’ve long imagined that somebody could create a USS Enterprise (NCC-1701 series) hotel, underground. It could incorporate elements from several of the Enterprises on TV shows and movies.
First class rooms would be officer’s rooms, with less expensive crewman rooms. Part of the illusion would be that the ship was en route to a particular star system, with “arrivals” and “departures”, along with detours because of cosmic events.
Some elevators could act as elevators, and others as pseudo transporters, using different special effects.
What kind of logic is that???
