Bishop Clemens von Galen was a brave man. Many Nazis wanted to execute him but Hitler and Goebbels recognized that his popularity was too great. He was beatified by Pope Benedict in 2005.

“The population should be considered in terms of the whole world, because an impact of the East upon the West is an inevitable factor in human history.

................

Professor F.A.E. Crew, who wore the uniform of a brigadier general, said this war was not a conflict of armies but a battle of birth rates.”

someone was thinking ahead.

Churchman who defy Hitler
Victor Von Galen of Germany (Catholic Bishop)

..................
His friends chuckle as they7 recall the quick witted rebuke he once administered to a uniformed Nazi as he was preaching in his cathedral against State interference with the family, youth and education. By what right, the Nazi interrupted, did an unmarried cleric, a celibate, talk about the problems of youth and marriage?

Striking the pulpit a great blow, the Bishop retorted instantly:
“Never will I tolerate in this cathedral any reflection on our beloved Fuehrer!”

Page 6:

The story of the baby grandson of Vice Admiral Waller being drowned by an unidentified man who snatched the child from his carriage and tossed into a lake turned out that the child's mother, Patricia Cary Craig Waller, plead out guilty to committing the crime herself and inventing the alibi.

She was discharged from the Old Bailey two years later after pleading guilty.

Patricia Cary Craig Waller is still alive and living in England as of this date.

June 8, 1942:

"Even in its darkest days, the Lódz (Poland) Ghetto sought to provide for the children.
Homes were found for those whose parents had been deported, and orphanages and hostels tried to provide children with nourishment and comfort.
In this photograph, Yankev Chmielnicki and other ghetto children eat at the orphanage on Garbarska Street.
The number of ghetto children was reduced dramatically in September 1942, when the authorities ordered the deportations of all children under the age of ten."

"Work was the key to survival in the Lódz Ghetto, and most children worked.
An accelerated course in tailoring was developed so that young people could learn a useful skill.
By the end of 1942 even nine-year-olds were expected to work.
All members of the ghetto were on call for assignments of forced labor.
Here, a Jewish youth, the Star of David pinned to his back, washes the car of a German official."
