Just got back from my cataract surgery follow up, my right eye is now 20/20. Before surgery I was legally blind in that eye.
On the 19th of this month I go in for the left eye.
If you have cataracts get them fixed! I had no idea just how near blind I was and I missed way too much!

My son had it done 2 weeks ago. I have never heard of a guy in his 20’s getting one before.
His new found sight is awesome.

I am so happy for you! Best wishes on your other eye, too.
Now you can go out without using your telephoto lens to see down the driveway! PTL!
You owe us some photos, buddy! :-)
It’s amazing, everything looks bright and new again!
“I hope this means more pictures”.
Hope is good! Well, at least the hope for pictures.
Serious advice;
I had mine done about 5 or 6 years ago and I've done some wreong and bad things.
As a truck driver I had the option of the near or far (sighted) lenses and I got the ones that let me see far, for driving and wonderful sightseeing.
I found the space from my eyes to about two feet was blurred and I opted for the dollar special "numbered" reading glasses at a lot of discount stores.
I found #2 was ideal for the distance of my computer, but reading smaller print (magazines, NRA, KITPLANES, etc) needed a 2.75 or 3 .. so I got THOSE.
In a year or so, I found that I had three glasses for that zero - 2 ft. space and it became a pain in the ass.
(Don't even ASK about looking under the hood in the dark ((even in the day, it's dark)) ... even with a flashlight)
After about three years or so, I finally went and got prescription glasses tyhat were supposed to eliminate that constant changing of glasses ... and it did ... sort of.
My theory is, I should have gotten prescription glasses after my both eyes were done and used the computer VERY judiciously.
I NOW use an EZEYES keyboard and increase the viewing size of the screen to 200% which allows me to read and type with no glasses and though it is not as clear as a bell, it IS at least, using my natural ability to adjust to "focus" and I wish maybe I had started THIS a little sooner.
Enjoy, brother, but be careful of using the numbered cheaters c... they DO work, but they are not your natural ability to focus and etc.
The only trouble I had was trying to remember is what drops and how much to put in my eye. Now when you get the second eye done...then the fun begins...LOL
He is as much of a camera freak as I am LOL.
When the bandages came off last week I think he was as happy as I was. The satisfaction he gets from his work is totally obvious.
After going to doctors who don't really give a damn this has been a great experience.
Excellent
Major congratulations Swampsniper! More Prayers answered! G-d is good!
YEEEHAAAWW, indeed! Congratulations, and welcome back to the land of the sighted.
I don't have to start the drops in my left eye until the Saturday before the surgery and I'm about finished with the right eye drops.
Today was the first day I've really been outside a lot., all I can say is WOW! Stuff has color again!
Prayers continue.

Good news indeed. Wear sunglasses outside.
Congratulations! I had my cataracts fixed two years ago. It’s such a pleasure to walk around without that cloudy film over my eyes.
