YES!!!!!!! It is about time. After 43 years of being a Mets fan! Thought I never get to see it too.

While I must admit that I am definitely not a Mets fan; I, as a fan of the sport, must applaud Johan’s incredible performance. Over 130 pitches! He pitched an amazing game!

The Mets pitched a no hitter?
Next you’re going to tell me the Cubs won the World Series.

Third base ump robbed Beltran of hit in 4th. Called fair ball foul.

Sitting here in St. Louis, I watched the game. Hats off to Santana, who pitched a great game. He doesn't throw that hard anymore, but he can *pitch*. His change-up is devastating. Keeps the hitters off-balance.
I have to say, though, that there was one hit, really. It was the ball hit down the line by Beltran. The ump blew the call, said it was foul. But the replay shows the ball clearly hit the chalk line, making it fair, no question about it.
Also, the catch by Baxter against the left-field wall definitely saved the no-no. Baxter went all out and sacrificed his body to make the catch. Santana has to take that boy out for a primo steak dinner at the best NY restaurant!
And I'm glad Collins left Santana in to finish, regardless of pitch count. It would have been lame to take him out, just because of the silly pitch count.
BTW, I remember watching the near no-hitter Seaver threw, broken up by Jimmy Qualls of the Cubs in the ninth, as I recall.

Tom Seaver had five one-hitters as a Met but didn’t get his no-hitter until he was with the Reds IIRC.

Good for him. Extremely rare to pitch a no-hitter.
